The simple pleasures

No comments :
You know that the weekend is here when lots of kids swarm the park and especially the playground areas. Kor-kor & me included.

Yup, we were off to West Coast Park and unlike the last time where I forgot to bring my sand toys, I clearly wasn't taking any chances this time.

Think kor-kor too lah. Hee hee...

I held onto my spade ever so tightly from the moment we left our house, all the way in the car, and until we reached the park.

Well, erm... that was until we saw the huge playground structure anyway...

Then the both of us promptly ditched all our sand toys and scrambled onto the playground. Hahahaha...

Kor-kor was like a monkey, climbing up and down all the structures and scurrying across the bridges.

While I was more like a mole, crawling through the tunnels and holes at the playground.

Kor-kor especially liked this particular rope bridge where he went on it countless times. I did go on it once, but after a few steps I got stuck 'cos it was too wobbly for me! Heh. So Daddy had to come to rescue me lor. :P

But no such problems for my big kor-kor!

Then I remembered my orignal purpose that I came here for, which was to play with the sand. And so, I went to ask Mummy for my sand toys...

That was until I saw another boy holding a balloon. Which I immediately wanted to grab from him. Yah lor, I very buay paiseh one.

But unfortunately, Mummy stopped me in time which of course made me a bit upset. So I went to my own corner to sulk and pour sand into my sandals intead. :P

But I could never stay angry for long lah... especially when Mummy offered to shelter me from the hot sun. Hahahaha...

So yet another fun (and sweaty) day at the park once again...

Think kor-kor's already thinking when we should be back again liao. Heh.

Zipping around

2 comments :
Due to the ever-rising fuel prices, Daddy had volunteered me to go green.

Yup, so now I can even go faster when I am running late for my appointments. All THANKS to my handy dandy pair of skates! Hee hee...

The skates are from Fisherprice and it has a size adjustment lever so that I can still wear them when my feet get bigger. There's even a speed control switch that allows beginners like me to lock the wheel from rolling backwards so that I can get used to them first. Then when I am more pro liao, I can switch to the free wheeling mode.

Cool eh? Now I know where I want to go this weekend to test-drive my skates already. :P

Back to the Birds

No comments :
Interestingly enough, I love visiting the birdpark much more than the zoo.

So on knowing that Mummy had some free admission to the Jurong Bird Park, I immediately declared that we should go to the birdpark since "we had not been there for a long time already". (Daddy's note: But we had just been there less than 1 month ago lor!)

So there I was, happily sitting on the panorail with di-di, with the map in my hand... and eagerly plotting where we should head out first.

And since we didn't get to visit the big waterfall aviary the last time, it was a no-brainer lah.

This time I'm smarter liao... I brought along 1 loaf of bread just to feed the birds! HEE HEE...

Well, that is IF di-di didn't finish the bread first. Hahahaha...

The aviary was full of so many different colourful birds flying around, and heng it just rained 'cos it was definitely so much cooler walking about in the park. Daddy would second that I'm sure. :P

But no matter how nice the aviary was, I was still pining for the one big exhibit that I had truly enjoyed the last time I was there.

The LORY Exhibit!!!

Yessir, I kept pestering Daddy & Mummy to bring di-di & me to feed the lories 'cos as I put it, "It's my AND di-di's FAVOURITE!" How smart eh... kekeke...

Di-di wasn't so scared of them as compared to last time liao; all he wanted to do was to take a closer look...

AND to pull their tails! Naughty naughty...

Me? I just let the lories eat their fill from the cup that I was holding. They are absolutely my best friends lah!

We lingered and walked around the park for a while longer, looking at the other species of birds that we had not come across during our past visits. Until I remembered that I haven't saw the cute penguins yet!

Di-di was also very happy to go into the dark exhibit to view the penguins. Or maybe 'cos there was aircon? Heh.

Anyway, there was this particular penguin that kept following di-di & me whenever we walked along the tank.

Whenever I stopped, he'll stopped too. And he'll linger around to try to kiss my hand... so very cute! No wonder both of us spent such a long time there just training the penguin to do his laps.

So yet another fun day at the bird park. When Daddy asked me afterwards whether I would like to go visit the zoo the next time, I said no. Me only want go to the Bird Park. Hahaha...

So it sure seems like we'll be back! And I'm sure of it. :)

Kungfu Pandan

No comments :
Friday night was my very first night out at the movies! And so kor-kor & I had a special treat to watch 'Kungfu Panda', the fighting roly-poly bear bear.

Kor-kor had initially called the movie 'Kungfu Pandan', but Daddy told him the show wasn't about some green leaves or cake. Hahahaha...

Anyway, we both enjoyed the show lots! I did get a bit restless in the middle portion of the movie though, but that was quickly rectified when the action scenes came on. :P Kor-kor was laughing at certain parts of the show, especially when Po was bouncing Tai Lung off his huge belly. Maybe he thought of Daddy's tummy. Hee hee hee...

Eee-asy Pea-C

No comments :
I'm prancing around with Daddy's bolster because I've got a new toy!

It's a mini Asus Eee PC laptop for me to play all my educational online games like this. Yes, notice I emphasized on the 'educational' bit... 'cos that's all I'm allowed to play for now.

Not that I am complaining of course. At least now Daddy will not be irritated by my incessant nagging to let me use his computer everytime. Hahaha...

But there are ground rules that came with the mini laptop too - I can only fiddle with it once per day and no more than 20 minutes each time.

See? No wonder I put on a fake smile when Daddy asked me to take a photo with the laptop. That's 'cos he's eating into my precious 20 minutes lor! Haiyah!

And in case in you didn't notice, the cover of the laptop is pink. Well, erm... actually Daddy bought it for Mummy... just that I also get to enjoy joint-ownership privileges. Hee hee...

I really like it a lot - the touchpad and keyboard are a good size for my little fingers. And best of all, it's light! I've even learnt how to switch on & shut down the laptop too. Okay, better don't waste my 20 minutes any further... back to my 'work'!

Beachdate

No comments :
One of the many things that di-di & I love to do is to head down to the beach.

You can be sure that the both of us will definitely enjoy playing with the sand and seawater, even if we are slowly baking in the sun.

With all our beach toys in tow, it is almost therapeutic to keep digging holes in the sand and pouring buckets of water into them. And repeating the process all over again.

I think Daddy & Mummy are just content to sit down and enjoy their cold drinks lor...

And sometimes, while di-di is busy filling his bucket with salty water...

Daddy will whisk me away and bring me for a dip in the sea. Which usually kind of scares me at first...

But after I make sure that I am clinging really tightly to Daddy, I'm okay liao. Hee.

Di-di also has his turn to go for a dip, but he's usually happier on land. 'Cos he gets to be more mobile and play with more stuff. Stuff like, erm, Daddy's slippers?

And I always love to bring back a souvenuir or two whenever I go to the beach. Sometimes it's seashells, but this time it's, well, seaweed.

Hahaha... But it didn't stay in my bucket for long though. Wonder where it went?

Anyway, as with all outings out in the open and under the hot sun, hydration is very important you know...

Well, not as important as looking for my seaweed though. Hehe... There's always a next time I guess! :P
