Washout Weekend

No comments :
We didn't do anything much over the last weekend of August, 'cos Mummy's uncle passed away early last Thursday morning. So we were at the wake on Saturday night as well as Sunday for the cremation. Rest in peace, Granduncle Cheong.

Death - I know what that means. It means that I will no longer be able to see that person forever and ever. I also knows it comes with sadness, and so I told Daddy over the weekend that I don't want him, Mummy, or anyone near me to die. Daddy said all of us have to go away someday, but for them to spend the most-est time with di-di & me, all I have to do is to listen to him & Mummy and not make them angry. Well, that's easy.

*

Anyway, we did meet up with lots of Daddy's & Mummy's hall friends from NUS last Friday at Coca Restaurant for yummy steamboat buffet dinner! Di-di & I were happy to see Brandon & his cute mei-mei, Kaylene once again, and boy did we have fun fun fun running around outside the restaurant while the adults were still gorging themselves inside. And if that wasn't enough, we found ourselves having ice cream for dessert at Häagen-Dazs a short while later!

Saturday was our usual art class in the morning, followed by the wake at night.

We had our swimming lessons on Sunday morning, and then proceeded to the crematorium after that. We had originally planned to head on down to the Kite Festival at West Coast Park in the evening but darn, it was TOTALLY a rainy day yesterday!

Yea, the $2 paper Jap umbrellas from Daiso didn't work as well as expected. Hahaha... So we found ourselves at Vivocity for dinner, and also to buy some stuff for di-di & me to give to our teachers as Teachers' Day presents.

Well, other than that it was pretty mundane stuff...

Like me suddenly having the urge for a dump at the rather clean Vivocity toilets.

Eeeww... hee hee...

Boom Bah! Boom Bah!

No comments :
Mummy needed to work the whole of last Sunday, so kor-kor & I had to check ourselves into the Daddy Daycare Centre. Which wasn't too shabby I might add... hahaha...

So anyway, after dropping Mummy & Ku-jie (who also had to work) off, there was only one place to go on a Sunday for 3 boys like us... to China Square Central for the weekend toys flea market! Hee hee... Daddy's idea if you must know. :P

Actually it was because we were going to catch a play at the Act3 Theatre... so we had some time to while away before heading down.

Title of the play was 'BOOM BAH!'. I didn't really have an idea what was it about... but it sure sounded it was going to be ultra loud!

Kor-kor & I quickly choped the front row seats when we entered the theatre; we were just too eager lah. :P

The play was about a group of animals; cat, chicken, pig & goat, who discovered the joys of making music using different types of everyday items... and you can tell that I really enjoyed it lots when I suddenly stand up, start clapping and dancing away! Hahaha...

When the show ended, we had a chance to play and explore with some of the musical instruments that the cast used... under the watchful eyes of the animals of course!

I liked the violin while kor-kor was rather fascinated with this thing called an accordion...

I even gave hugs away freely to all the animals... which I think Missy Goat was my fave lah. Hee hee...

We came to Mr. Piggy next, who was holding onto a tuba.

Erm, me thinks he's so bloated up 'cos he always need to blow lots of air into that brass instrument. Heh.

Kor-kor & I took turns shouting 'hello!' down the bell of the tuba, expecting to hear nice music in return. Hahaha... ok ok now I know it doesn't work. You have to shout 'Music please!' instead of 'Hello!'.

:P

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves at the play, and with our tummies protesting, we headed back home for lunch and our mandatory nap. Once awoke, it was time to pick Mummy up and boy, did we enjoy our sushi (yes, again!) dinner after that! :)

We're still not done

No comments :
*Just another quick note about Polliwogs:

You can pester your Daddy & Mummy to buy the season pass for Polliwogs at $88.80 (U.P. S$105) for 6 entries which is valid for 6 months. Usually, it costs $18 for 90 min worth of fun time per child for weekends, & add $4 to include the outdoor bouncy float.

But if you got the season pass, it's UNLIMITED playtime even for weekends, and that includes the outdoor play too! So of course more worth it hor? Hee hee, think your Daddy & Mummy will be praising you for being such a clever boy/girl. :P But hurry, me think the promotion is on til only the end of this month after which the price reverts to S$105 for 6 sessions.

Ok, so after having tons of fun at Polliwogs on Saturday, di-di & I were visibly quite tired but somehow, we both felt that it was still too early to head home. :P

And so, we bargained for some more time... for us to hang out by the beach. Hee hee!

Although it was the early afternoon, it didn't feel extremely hot as there was a continuous breeze that accompanied us while we were busy poking the sand with twigs.

And our bonus time got extended when Daddy & Mummy decided to have some ice cream while chilling out in the shade. Hahaha...

In the end, we totally trashed our afternoon naps as di-di didn't even close his eyes during the journey back home. I, erm, did get my power nap in the car for a superbly long 10 minutes before both of us were all jumpy and hyper again at home. :)

And what do you know, we promptly went to bed at 8pm that night. Think Daddy & Mummy must have enjoyed the sweet sound of silence for that one night. Heh.

Golly Wolly, it's Polliwogs!

3 comments :
Yesterday morning, di-di & I were promised a brand new place where we could run wild, play wild and jump wild.

It's The Polliwogs - a large Playgym with both an indoor and an outdoor play area. Woohoo! This is gonna get really interesting and fun!

It's at the former Singapore Tennis Centre at East Coast Park, beside Waraku restaurant. And while the children run amok, create chaos & go havoc in the play area, the adults have a cosy seating area beside with TV, magazines, internet access and coffee & tea all for company! Shiok eh? Of course lah, must make the adults more comfy so that they will stay longer mah... kekeke...

Ok ok, don't waste time talking liao... di-di & I were just to eager to have a taste if the action...

Well, there are the usual tunnels, obstacles, slides, ball pits, bridges, nettings, planks... basic ingredients to add to the fun!

There're also the many guns there, which can shoot out foam balls... of course you would need to grab yourself a rubber bucket to collect lots of ammunition first, much like the one we had played in Korea.

I then spotted a high twirly swirly slide, and of course I had to have a go! WHEEEEEE!

But I think fast-paced action is not to di-di's liking... he preferred the ball pits. As usual. Hee hee...

I soon joined him in the ball pit, and together with a newly made friend, we began throwing the colourful balls towards Daddy. :P

Oh, and we had jio-ed Brandon & his sister, Kaylene, to join in the fun as well... and boy, did Brandon have loads of fun too.

Kaylene is still pretty small, so she can't really join us in our fun yet... but she seemed quite contented sitting atop of a block and watching us rumble and tumble while clenching 2 red balls tightly.

I don't know how come all young toddlers like to hold onto a ball leh? Daddy told me I used to love doing that too when I was younger. Ditto for di-di. Heh.

Anyway, back to the action. :)

Yes yes, di-di & his amazing colourful balls again.

We then got our hands stamped ('cos we had to come back later mah) as we needed to tame our growling tummies first.

And with lunch out of the way, we had more energy to expend... and what better way than to head out to the outdoor bouncy pirate ship!

Wah, so shiok! Di-di & I had such a great time bouncing up and down... no thanks to Daddy though, who created an earthquake so big it would have broken the Richter scale. Hee hee.

Erm, but a mental note to self - next time we must come a bit later 'cos the sun was so hot hot hot and it made the canvas pretty hot as well. But still, we had a bouncy good time albeit the short duration.

But no matter, we headed back into the air-conditioned indoor area to continue our fun!

Yep, more balls throwing, more sliding, more crazy mazy runs & climbs...

... til Daddy blew the final whistle. And yep, I was totally beat.

Now I have to quickly recharge my energy so that I can come again really soon! :P

Just looking

No comments :
Somehow, kor-kor & I simply love going to the Toys 'R' Us at Vivocity... not that we always want to buy toys lah, but even if we just look see look see, we're just as happy!

Especially since there's a huge Optimus Prime guarding the store entrance, kor-kor lagi like to always pop in to command him to 'Transform & Roll Out!' but he bohiew leh. :P

As for me, I still like the giant Thomas at the trains section better 'cos he's always so smiley and cheerful. Definitely a good subject for photo-taking.

I then usually proceed to spend the longest time at the Thomas toys section to slowly browse through... while kor-kor heads out to the, what else, Transformers section to browse through his own stuff as well.

Erm, but not before posing in front of the OP truck. Hee hee...

Toys Convention

No comments :
After we watched the play last Saturday, our day didn't end there actually. In fact, we headed down to Suntec for the Singapore Toy Games Comic Convention 2009. Which erm, Daddy insisted was for di-di's AND my benefit wor. :P

That's Mr. Monopoly I think... there's a new Monopoly game launched called Monopoly City which has a new set of rules for the game. But don't ask me any details 'cos all I was interested in was taking the car for a spin!

Did I pass 'GO'? Can I collect $200? Hee hee...

I needed the money lah 'cos the next exhibit was MY highlight of the convention!

Hahaha... what else but Transformers lor... And who else but my hero, Optimus Prime!

There was this big display of various Megatrons throughout the history of Transformers and I began trying to identify the ones that I recognize diligently...

That was until I noticed the other toys that were taking up the 2 upper rows...

So many Optimus Primes!!!

WAH! I spent quite a long time hanging around the display... heh. These toys actually belong to an uncle who also loves Transformers lots and he was kind enough to accept an invitation from Hasbro to display his collection at the convention. Maybe someday I will want to be like him, no? Hahaha...

After peeling myself away from the display, I had a last shot with Mudflap & Skids...

... before paying the other booths a visit, like this one set up by the Singapore Zoo.

Di-di loved the motorized animals display, and he was also quick enough to grab a soft toy to hug.

Daddy's fave was next, and di-di & I joined him as padawans in the photo-taking with Mr. Stormtrooper & Mr. Imperial Guard. I even got to hold a lightsaber!

Then we made our way to the worlds of Lego and also, Playmobil!

Where the moving display by Playmobil kept di-di & I enthralled for a good 10 minutes. :P

Di-di then fell asleep in his pram soon after, and so he missed a photo opportunity with the Dark Knight himself. Hee.

I was having so much fun that I totally missed my afternoon nap... hahaha! So many things to see and play mah... And when Daddy & I finally beared to leave, we caught a glimpse of Mario & Luigi waving goodbye to us!

Or was I just imagining things since I was so tired??? :P
