Family Day - Fun & Perspiration

No comments :
Saturday was the Family Day... and in conjunction with the National Family Celebrations & Nuffnang, we scored free passes to the Luge at Sentosa... and as an added tremendous surprise for di-di & me, we got free tickets to Universal Studios Singapore as well! WOOT!

Naturally, both of us monkies were extremely excited. Especially erm, me 'cos I have been wanting to go on the Roller-coaster at Far Far Away ever since I had a taste of it the last time.

And this time, we had enough tickets to call Kong-kong & Por-por along too, which I am sure they are very excited too. Hee hee...

Well, the bad news was that the weather was absolutely merciless - the sun was scorching without a hint of clouds in the blue sky. But the good news was that the theme park was still relatively uncrowded 'cos we were there early. And so, we started off with spinning space capsules at Sci-fi City.

After getting all dizzy and woozy, we then decided to take refuge in Shrek's castle for some air-conditioned comfort... oh, and some 4-D adventure of course. Even better, no queues! :P

After that, di-di & I zoomed towards the Spinning potion rides and this time, Kong-kong went up together with us.

We must have been ultra lucky, or our timing must have been spot on... 'cos the moment after we finished our rides, it was super crowded! Almost all the rides had a waiting time of at least 40 minutes! Gosh... so of course we did the next best thing - makan!!!

No, we weren't THAT hungry to finish up a dinosaur, but we still had a yummy world at the food court at The Lost World. Chicken rice always does it for me lah. Heh.

Seeing that the crowd was still going strong, we decided to take a break from USS first and head on down to the Sentosa Luge. Di-di & I had gone on it one time previously - the time when Mummy's phone dropped all the way down from the skyride and miraculously survived!

So this time, I wasn't taking any chances... I sat cross-legged throughout the skyride, 'cos I was afraid my shoes would fall down into the bushes below.

Di-di, on the other hand, was muttering how scared he was 'cos he was afraid that he would fall all the way down. HAHAHAHA... And when Daddy asked him to smile for the camera, this is how his smile turned out...

Hee hee... but there wasn't any fear in the both of us when we zipped down the track. In fact, we complained that it all ended too fast!!!

Too fast was definitely on our minds when we re-entered Universal Studios, as we clamored to go on the Roller coaster at Far Far Away. And luckily, the queue wasn't long already and so we torpedoed on the Dragon-coaster! Whee!

It was di-di's first time on a roller coaster and he remarked that he thoroughly enjoyed it. Hee.

There was just this one other ride that we hadn't been on yet, and that was the Flyin' Dino ride.

It's staple theme park fare - same ride that you can find at most theme parks, just replace the dino with a different animal, but somehow I love going on it lah. :P

Then without knowing, it was time for dinner... time really flies when one is having fun. Hee. And so this time, we decided to try the restaurant at Madagascar. Well, the food was alright but the decor inside was definitely nice and colourful!

Di-di then recalled that we had yet to go on the Madagascar merry-go-round! Lucky thing lor... hahaha...

And so we got the merry-go-round to spin us right round baby right round like a record baby right round round round...

And with that, it marked the end of our Family Day celebrations... but we all had fun, and yes all of us were definitely tired by then.

But not before one last photo at USS! :P

Thanks to Nuffnang & NFC for the tickets, and thanks too to Kong-kong & Por-por for accompanying us for a fun-filled day! We slept real soundly that night, so Daddy & Mummy are also thankful as well. Hiak hiak hiak...

To infinity & beyond! (with my buddies of course)

No comments :
Today's a public holiday and also marks the end of a school term, and kor-kor & I know what happens during one long weekend such as this.

We pack in loads of activities that's what! Hee hee... Sources tell me that this is gonna be one fun-filled weekend, and true enough we kicked it off by catching the Pixar exhibition at the Science Centre this afternoon with our buddies - Timothy & Bethany.

Well, if there's only one thing you see at the exhibition, make sure it is the Spectrobe! It shows you how, with a little bit of lighting & spinning effects, the Toy Story animation comes to life. The 4 of us spent a pretty long time just gawking at it. :P

We also caught the first Toy Story movie in 3-D after the exhibition, and of course it was a joy catching it with our buddies
lah... especially for kor-kor me think.

Well, we are newly-converted Toy Story fans... hahaha... Timo loves Hamm, kor-kor loves Buzz, while I love Mr. Potatohead! Why ah? 'Cos his face parts keep dropping and he's very funny lor... HAHAHAHA...

Well, maybe we should catch Toy Story 3 together... hee hee...

Alright, time to go
koon... gotta recharge for an even ultra longer (& fun!) day tomorrow!!! :P

We pledge again to...

7 comments :
After di-di & I made our small personal pledge last week, we were rewarded by nuffnang & the National Family Council with Sentosa Luge Tickets for this Saturday's National Family Celebrations! WOOHOO!

So I did a little survey and asked around to see who else wants to make a small pledge of his/her own. One easy target, erm... I mean person, would be Kong-kong! Hee hee... He said he would pledge to go travelling with us more often, so that he & Por-por can take the chance to enjoy life and also to spend more time with us. Much like the short trips we had together to Genting and Redang.

Of oourse, di-di & I are sure that he would like to bring us more often to the playground and beach too! HAHAHAHA... Like that confirm we super happy too! :P

OH, and one other pledge that Daddy & Mummy want to make - that they would still continue to spend enough time with di-di & me come November. Why ah?

'Cos of this little fella lor.

Yup, I'm going to be a kor-kor the second time, and di-di is going to be promoted to the status of a kor-kor too! Well, we don't know if it's going to be a di-di or mei-mei yet, but one thing's for sure, we are extremely excited and can't wait for him/her to arrive!

HEE HEE... so yes, it IS going to be a busy year end for our family! :P

So, have you made your personal commitment to your family yet? Don't leave things hanging in the air...

Do it, because as a family, we Live, Love & Play. Together! :)

We run the city!

No comments :
Yesterday early morning, di-di & I got out of bed really early... all in anticipation of the Cold Storage Kids' Run at the F1 Pit Building!

Yep, no hint of tiredness from the both of us at all. In fact, both of us were raring to go... and I kept bugging Daddy & Mummy by asking how come the run hadn't began yet. Repeatedly. :P

Clara soon arrived too, and I'll be running together with her in the same category. Kong-kong & Por-por also dropped by to give us support!

Our turn soon came, and we were ushered into the holding area to... what else, wait some more lor. But at least Daddy still can take more photos! Hee hee...

Can you tell that both Clara & I were absolutely raring to go? :P

But the heat was getting a bit uncomfortable lah... all of us were perspiring buckets even before we ran!

Finally, the air horn sounded and we were off like the wind!

Ok... so I think Clara & I sprinted too fast in the beginning 'cos we were getting punctured by the time we reached the halfway mark of the 800m route. But pressed on we did!

And we were soon rewarded with the Finishing Line in sight...

Which of course galvanized both Clara & I!

And with a final dash, we crossed the finish line with a great sense of achievement!

All the kids there were truly winners!!!

Daddy then backtracked to look for di-di, who was running together with Mummy.

It turned out that somewhere along the way, di-di was bumped by another kid and he fell down and grazed his knee. Mummy feared the worst, as di-di might request to be carried for the remainder of the run. But credit to him, he wanted to finish the whole run on his own and finish it he did! Yay!!!

And all of us were awarded medals!

But it's not made of gold me think. Hahaha...

Our 2 fervent supporters were definitely proud of us! Hee.

And what better way to replenish all those lost calories than to feast on Fried Chicken at POPEYES'!!!

WAHAHAHA... yum yum yum! And it seemed like a lot of people think the same way too, 'cos the place was packed! We even bumped into Dylan & Rae Ann too!
