Family Weekend Out

No comments :
It was the National Family Day Out last Saturday - where we are encouraged to spend a day out with our families in our own special ways.

We were fortunate enough to receive free tickets to the Hippo Bus Tours for that day, so it was off to the Waterfront Promenade near Marina Bay Sands for our open top ride!

The sky was extremely overcast when we arrived - uh-oh, not a good sign of things to come.

But at least the weather was extremely cooling and the winds make it erm, easier for the balloons to flutter around? Hee.

We hopped onto the Hippo Bus, and off we went around the city area...

The sights that were narrated to us by the tour guide were quite interesting... but definitely not as interesting as all of us scrambling to the sheltered part of the bus when large pellets of rain drops began to fall!

Hahaha... it wasn't a total wash-out, but at least we got slightly drenched as a family together! That's how families do things right - TOGETHER. Hee hee...

And in keeping with the water theme, we invited our cuz, little Jaeden to our place for a swim on Sunday.

And this time, the weather was definitely cooperative!

We were having so much fun that Jaeden decided to join in as well...

WHEEE!!!

And so with school reopening the next day, it was a fitting end to our school holidays...

Now, to look forward to our next holidays? Hahahaha....

Papa's Day Weekend Fun III

No comments :
And so, right after our beach outing last Sunday, di-di & I didn't want to go home just yet. Yes yes, our adrenaline was still pumping through our bodies and this gave Daddy a brilliant plan to tire us monkies out - onwards to Changi Airport to conquer one giant inflatable playground!

Yup, it was quite like the giant inflatable slide that T3 had for the past 2 Christmas seasons, only that this time it was all cheery & colourful and all things summer! :)

Needless to say, we monkies couldn't wait to get started to get bouncy on the playground! Hee hee...

In order to redeem 8 minutes of play on the playground, one simply has to produce a single, same-day receipt  (no min. spending) from any shopping or dining outlet at Changi Airport.

Definitely lots of fun, thrills... and spills too. It's a lucky thing the whole playground is so bouncy and soft - as di-di would appreciate.

Why?

'Cos there was an instance when he was happily bouncing up and down on the inflatable aeroplane...

... when something erm, threw him off-guard...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Where did my brother go????

And that's what I call a safe landing. :P

Shame Shame!!!

Well, this isn't cheekiemonkies-related... but it's too good a laugh to pass up!

Seriously, it'll be criminal, or even SHAMEFUL, not to share this. HAHAHAHAHA....

(Just in case you miss the punchline. Hee.)

It really cracked me up so loud that my 2 monkies rushed out of the room to ask me what was so funny! :P

Papa's Day Weekend Fun II

No comments :
Last Sunday was beach day, and the skies must have heard Daddy's prayers 'cos it was the perfect weather for a beach outing with Kong-kong, Por-por & Mummy's relatives.

Maybe 'cos it was Father's Day lah, so the skies above gave face to Daddy... hee hee...

But seriously, the weather was awesome - Mr. Sun was happily hiding behind those thick clouds, and there was a constant strong cool breeze throughout our sand digging project.

Di-di & I, together with our little cousin Jaeden, were definitely enjoying ourselves. But erm, can't say the same for mei-mei though...

I love her chao bin look. Hee hee... She just woke up from her slumber, hence the killer look.

As for di-di, he was enjoying himself so much that he stripped down to his underpants 'cos in his words - "it is more comfortable!" :P

Beaches are always good places for family bonding, don't you think?

Everyone can build sandcastles together, splash each other silly in the sea, or just simply watch the ships & planes go by in the vast open sea...

Or just plain goofing around on the sand!!!

I think it must have quite a while since the last time both of us monkies came to the beach... we nearly forgot how much fun it was to have sand running through our toes!

As for mei-mei... well, it was her first time at the beach, as well as her first time coming into contact with sand.

And did she like it? Hmmm.... she was pretty nonchalant about it.

Think she was more interested in chewing her shoe!!! :P

This must have been one of the rare times that we didn't perspire after a day out at the beach.... that was how cooling the weather was! Hahahaha....

But since we didn't get a chance to perspire, di-di & I found the perfect reason to do so at our next destination. Yup, our day weren't over yet! :P

Papa's Day Weekend Fun I

No comments :
What a hectic weekend we had! And it wasn't just because it was Father's Day... 'cos we monkies were the ones who had the most fun I think! Hee hee...

We had originally planned a short road tip up to Johor for a 1 night stay with our friends but at the last minute, the adults decided to can the idea 'cos of the high possibility that we may get stuck in the causeway jam for hours.

And so first up - we spent more than half of Saturday at our buddies, Benji's & Sarah's place. Erm, naturally, we were all up to some mischief!

Luckily it was only the Kinect that were making us all hyper and animated. :P

No prizes for guessing how much fun we had...

But the main star of the wasn't the Kinect, it was the BBQ!

Look at all the sumptuous food... but we children think the adults were more excited about that than us lor... hahaha...

Ok, I was excited too lah... in helping to barbecue the food!!!

Free child labour hor??? Heh.

Great fun, great food, great company... what's not to like?

It was a perfect gathering for all daddies present... and there was more to come the next day - and it involved the Beach & the Airport! Woot!
