Big Breakfast

What can be more fun than having a lazy breakfast on a Sunday morning?

Having breakfast together with 1,900 people on a Sunday morning, that's what!

The Rise & Shine Carnival was held at The Lawn@Marina Bay last Sunday, and it was a huge breakfast picnic affair where everyone ate their way into the Singapore Book of Records for the largest breakfast picnic turnout!

As a Partner Blogger for the Rise & Shine project, di-di, mei-mei & I too headed down for a slice of the action. After all, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. And it is with this in mind that this breakfast initiative was launched to promote healthy breakfast eating on a daily basis among children aged 4 to 12 years of age, and hopefully raising healthier and happier children in the process.

As with all carnivals, there were tons of activities like bouncy castles, sports try-outs stations, fitness corners, craft-making and face-painting to keep all kids occupied.

However, the most fun we derived at the Carnival was from a simple frisbee in our goodie bag... and it was multiplied many times over as a result of the great company we had from Sengkangbabies and BPDG Travels!

Mei-mei though, was more determined to seek out the roaming mascots and have her picture taken with them.

We had a great time at the Carnival, even more so since the location of the Carnival was superb - it was well-shaded and very windy! I think that any event that doesn't have Daddy perspiring profusely can be deemed as a resounding success. LOL.

Although the Carnival has come to a close, the breakfast initiative hasn't. Should you need an idea or two as to how to whip up a nutritious breakfast for us kids, then do visit the Rise & Shine Breakfast website HERE for many yummy and healthy recipes.

And see you at the next Rise & Shine event - the Rise & Shine Expo, the only children’s healthcare and development expo in Singapore to be held from 27 to 29 September 2013 at Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre Hall 401!

The only thing I remember for the event was the kids' smile and the super-Windy conditions :)
