Yes, so we are halfway through 2015. Already. Time sure flies!

And if you are fretting over how to keep your children occupied this June School Holidays, I have compiled an easy guide to the various activities for kids taking place around Singapore. So yes, get ready to sprint and hop around Singapore this coming holidays!


I will be updating the list regularly as more information trickle in so do check back often!

Free admission for senior citizens

Reminisce sweet memories from the era of retro games like hopscotch and five stones, and relive school excursions at Jurong Bird Park. Youngsters from the iPad generation can get a kick from playing chapteh or compete in a traditional game of kuti kuti with their parents and grandparents. Competitive ones can collect winner’s coupons at the various game stations to win exciting prizes at the tikam tikam counter. Those wanting to play Snakes and Ladders can have jumbo-sized fun with a larger-than-life version of this classic board game!


Gather the whole family for a treasure hunt that promises a colourful day of exploration in the park with 5,000 birds across 400 species. Kids will need all the help they can get from parents and grandparents to solve a series of clues along a trail featuring vintage items. Or take a break from all the fun and be drawn in by myths and legends in an intimate storytelling session. The tale of Sang Nila Utama comes alive in this interactive show and tell.

Bandai Namco Asia and Takashimaya Department Store present an iconic exhibition in celebration of the 35th anniversary of GUNDAM model kit and in conjunction with Singapore’s Golden Jubilee – the “Gundam Docks at Singapore”. One of the largest such exhibitions outside Japan, the approximately 4,000sqm showcase will include over 200 models of the phenomenal Gundam series – the first anime based on space war and machines that sparked off the genre of robotic anime.

Witness the fight between Earth Federation vs Principality of Zeon as the RX-78-2 Gundam, the largest Gundam to be showcased outside Japan, come face to face with Char’s Zaku at the heart of Singapore’s Orchard Road. The Gundam and Zaku are around 6 metres each, at a scale of 1:3, and weighs two tonnes each. Accompanied by daily light and sound shows held in the evenings, this is an activity you cannot miss as the war drama comes to life before your eyes.
