Looking for my little mermaid

On Sunday, Daddy & Mummy brought me to the Underwater World at Sentosa. Daddy said there got mermaid for me to beo; but I suspect it's mainly because the UW World is having a 30% discount off admission prices for this June hols. :P

So it was off to Sentosa in the morning - and boy, was it hot there! The sun was scorching hot; and still I had to pose here, pose there for Daddy...haiz...

But I have to admit; it was quite fun running around in the wide open spaces at Sentosa. And I think they had some balloon festival thingy going on that day, so all the staff there were wearing balloon hats. So funny! And I also tried yanking off one of the balloon hats from a person's head when Daddy wasn't looking. Hahaha...

Finally, we reached the UW World liao; which was very shiok 'cos it was air-conditioned. HAHAHA... me think Daddy was much happier than me to be inside. Hee hee...

I had a go at the touch pool first; and of course I loved it lah. Abuthen right??? 'Cos got water mah, so I loved splashing the water around. The pool had lots of fishes and starfishes in it, and people could put their hands in to feel and touch them. But my arm too short lah; cannot reach any of them. So I just made myself contented by making 'piak piak' sounds with the water. Hee...

Once I was done, we stepped inside to begin my quest for the little mermaid...

There were so many fishes swimming all around me! I was very fascinated by all the colourful fishes, corals, lights and I kept hitting on the tank in a bid to attract attention so that the fishes will swim to me. But they bo hiu me leh... maybe they know I got no food lah...

Did I mention that most of the fishes there were so much bigger than me??? And their mouth so big somemore ah... think they one mouth can swallow me liao. Hahaha... think also they chase me in water I cannot siam too... Wah, they better not appear in the swimming pool that I go to man... *shudder*

Next up - Jellyfishes! They so pretty hor? But they also pack a punch if you get too close to them... as Dory of Finding Nemo fame found out. I stood there for quite some time, just watching the jellyfishes swim around...

The next portion of the exhibit was the highlight for me...

Nope, it wasn't any of the fishes on display there.

It was the conveyor belt! Hahaha... There's this conveyor belt that brings people around in a huge tank. So there are fishes and sharks swimming all above you, making it seems like you are underwater, looking at all the fishes swimming around. So for once, us people on the belt are like the sushi, and the sharks above us are like the customers in a Sakae Sushi restaurant. Hahahaha...

But I wasn't interested in the fishes that were swimming above me at all; instead I was having fun with the belt. I was hopping on and off the belt; and eventually we went for 2 rounds! Hee hee...

So in the end, I didn't get to find my little mermaid leh... there only got dugong. Erm, but not my type lah... heh.

Then after that, we went to the Dolphin Lagoon to watch the pink dolphins show. But no photos; 'cos silly Daddy left the digicam in the car. But we didn't stay for the whole show anyway 'cos it was getting very hot and I was getting sleepy. So yep, we went home shortly after. It was a fun outing overall! :)

I'm crossing my fingers now, hoping that other places of interest in Singapore also have discount off their admission charges...then like that, I confirm can go somemore lah. Hahaha...
