Rechargeable Batteries - The Power to Fatherhood

Advertorial
(Daddy powers up)

To the kids, nothing shows you really care like a fresh set of batteries. Because just how many times did I have the unpleasant task of telling my kids that I have ran out of batteries to power back up their electronic toys?

Enough times for me to rip my hair out, including the black healthy ones.

So now I ensure I have a healthy stash of power for the dozens of playthings scattered throughout the house. And even better if these come in the form of rechargeable power.

Because let's face it, one simply cannot trust to leave those moments to second rate low-cost batteries. Especially since when my hair is involved. So imagine my joy when GP Batteries sent over their ReCyko+ rechargeable batteries and Portable PowerBank (PPB) for me to test them out.

I zoomed in on the Portable PowerBank instantaneously as this was one solution that could really be my eternal saviour considering the amount of time that I spend outside the home and office during weekdays. Essentially, it is a portable charging device for most electronic items and these include the iPhone, Android phones, iPads, Android tablets and most USB enabled devices.

So if I find myself running low on battery juice on one of my devices with no electric socket in sight, all I have to do is to plug the PPB into my device and it's good to go once again.

Not only does the PPB comes with LED indicators to show its current battery level, the compact and lightweight design makes it one of the first items to head into my briefcase every day. And in case you are wondering, I plugged in the PPB when my LG Optimus G phone was at 35% and at 80% charged level, the PPB still had 2 LED indicators lighted up.

An added feature of the GP Portable PowerBank is the use of Cool Power technology, which offers 4 levels of safety protection - Over-current protection, Over-voltage protection, Under-voltage protection and Over-temperature protection. So what this means is that one can enjoy a peace of mind having a safer and prolonged usage with the PPB.

And having a peace of mind is equally paramount too when it comes to powering the kids' toys at home. Because cheap batteries tend to leak brown goop after some time, utilising rechargeable batteries is a far better option. Especially since one is able to save on money and the environment at the same time!

The convenient thing about GP’s ReCyko+ rechargeable batteries is that they come pre-charged and ready to use right out from the pack. Even if they are left unused after one year of storage they are still able to hold up to 85% capacity due to their high retention rate.

Charging time takes about 2 hours for a full charge (depending on charger model), which is relatively fast. The ReCyko+ rechargeable batteries are suitable for a wide range of applications from low-drain devices such as torches and remote controls, to high-drain devices such as digital cameras and toys. Yup, even Furbys.

And since the Furbys can carry a conversation rather well (and painfully long), the kids were thrilled to find out that the batteries are able to be reused up to 1000 times! So yes - as opposed to putting myself in the predicament of running out of batteries at home, I would rather have that Furbish-spouting Gremlin-like thing go yapping incessantly.

It’s a lesser of two evils kind of thing. Not to mention it will certainly cement my Superdaddy status to my kids.
