The Going Price for a Tooth

 (Daddy chews)

Ok, pop quiz time - who is this?

It shouldn't be too tough to guess that the toothless baby above is Ayd. In fact, he remained enamel-free right up until he was close to 14 months old - definitely a record among all 3 monkies. And true to his teeth's tradition, they certainly took their own sweet time in falling off.

Then 2 days ago, it finally happened. One of Ayd's lower central incisor tooth decided that its time was up. He smiled big at me after school and I saw the space where his tooth had once been, and I knew history had been made.

Of course, there is always the issue of how much the Tooth Fairy will pay for one such tooth. When Ash first lost his tooth early last year, he pocketed 50 cents. But with rising inflation, I reckon $1 will be a fairer amount. Though I must say I nearly fainted when one of my friend's child told me that the Tooth Fairy gave him $50 for ONE tooth! I told him that the next time Ash or Ayd loses his tooth, I will be taking it to his house.

But I highly doubt both Ash and Ayd believe in the Tooth Fairy anyway. Either that, or they believe she is too busy saving the world with her rest of the 'Rise of the Guardians' gang. So whichever way I look at it, my wallet is the real winner.
