An Enchanting Snowy Christmas at Universal Studios Singapore

Media Invite

If there is one theme park that the monkies cannot seem to get enough off, Universal Studios Singapore will be it. The boys can go on the Transformers ride again and again and again, while the Diva doesn't mind getting spun round and round at King Julien's Beach Party-Go-Round.

And just for this Christmas, Universal Studios Singapore is spreading the festive cheer in a huge celebratory way.

There is just something special about visiting a theme park during the Christmas season, and it has to do with the entire park being decked out in tinsel and holly and transforming it into Santa’s Land.

So yes, even the characters in the park including Elmo and friends from Sesame Street, the Minions from DESPICABLE ME, Puss In Boots and Kitty Softpaws, and Woody Woodpecker were decked out in Christmas outfits during the meet and greet sessions.

Predictably, the rides were still the main attractions for the monkies.

One new show that we managed to catch was the 'Dance Off for the Magic Beans' in the Far Far Away zone, where Puss in Boots and Kitty Softpaws had a dance-off.

The boys had their sights set on another attraction nearby though - the Puss in Boots' Giant Journey, a new suspended roller-coaster ride that is slated for completion in the beginning of 2015. Frankly, we cannot wait!

In the meantime, what's Christmas without something that never fails to delight everyone - young and old alike?

Get ready for Singapore’s biggest snowfall across three themed zones (Hollywood, New York and Sci-Fi City) where everyone will be able to experience magical snow every hour from 12pm every day.

Okay so it may not be real snow. But try telling that to the monkies... and wifey.

In keeping with the Christmas celebrations, Sesame Street Saves Christmas, the Christmas-themed Sesame Street show, returns with a bigger stage for more magical moments at Pantages Hollywood Theater.

Telling an original Christmas tale, the show has picked up the award for Overall Best Production in Live Entertainment Excellence in the 2014 IAAPA Brass Ring Awards.

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer has fallen sick shooting a movie, and it is up to the Sesame Street gang as they help Santa and his elves keep Christmas out of jeopardy! Pretty simple story-line, but the dancing and singing had Ale joining in the beat... and I even spied the boys swaying a little too, even though they would not admit it. Heh.

Be sure to stay on in the park until the sun sets too, as the magic truly begins after that.

Most of the Christmas action takes place in front of the New York Public Library area, where a Christmas tree made entirely of plush toys takes centrestage. And come 7pm daily, something mesmerizing happens.

First up, the Dancing Christmas Light Show where the New York Public Library's facade got funky with a dazzling array of colourful lights that boogie to infectious music!

Immediately after that, we witnessed the telling of Winter Tales, a new video-mapping show about how Santa and his Elves celebrate Christmas.

Both shows will each take place three times nightly, so be sure to catch them!

Another show not to be missed involved the deployment of some marching soldiers.

Santa's Toy Soldiers, to be exact.

Expect loads of fun as the toy soldiers march along the street and up to the stage area, where they will dance to the beat of the drum in ‘The Changing of The Guard’.

Oh, and how can anyone say no to fireworks? Celebrating the festivities with a bang, Christmas Fireworks Spectacular will light up the night with new music and pyrotechnics every Friday and Saturday for the month of December AND with an additional show specially on Christmas Day!

With daily snowfall, festive shows and sweet treats, ‘Snowy Christmas at Santa’s Land’ in Universal Studios Singapore definitely has something for everyone in the family. I should know, especially since the monkies did not want to leave!

Just for this holiday season, guests will be able to enjoy extended park hours, and also a special Christmas set meal voucher included in the admission ticket!
