Penguin Playland Splashout @Jurong Bird Park

Media Invite
(Daddy chirps)

For some reason, ever since when Ash and Ayd were toddlers, they prefer the Jurong Bird Park more than the Singapore Zoo. And it still holds true now. So when they learnt that the water play area, Birdz of Play, has been transformed into Penguin Playland, they were adamant in paying it a visit!

An added interesting fun bit this school holidays is children can experience what it is like to be a Junior Wildlife Reporter and hone their observation and writing skills. They will be tasked to complete the ‘Penguin Times’ newsletter activity sheet as they go about exploring the Park, complete with their very own media pass!

Of course, the bulk of the action takes place at Birdz of Play with several fringe activities lined up for all children... and best of all, all activities are FREE!

Children can try out penguin face or hand painting, design their own notebook cover or learn more about penguins at an awareness booth.

But the perennial fave of the lot had got to be having a spot of fun with sand art!

Ultimately though, the water play provided the best form of entertainment for the monkies.

Oh yes, cue madness bundled with loads of crazy fun in the water alright.

Here's a tip - be sure to plonk your kids in the water (or its surrounds) by 1.30pm to catch the Penguin Party happening right beside the water area.

There were dances to follow, meeting the penguin mascots Pengu and Pengy and even a short magic show.

But the most appealing aspect of the show (to the monkies) had got to be watching it in the cool comfort of the water!

Or if you prefer to stay on land, head to the Penguin coast for a Penguin-razzi Meet-and-Greet. Participants between the ages of 5-12 will be given a crash course on all things penguin in 15 minutes, with an additional special 15 minute treat reserved for all participants after that. Kids will be able to be in exclusive proximity with Chocolate the celebrity African penguin. Do note that each session (11.45am and 2.30pm on weekends only) is limited to a maximum of 30 kids though, and on-site registration closes 5 minutes before each session.

Another activity to look forward to is the Upclose Encounter at Penguin Coast where Junior Wildlife Reporters get a chance to go behind the scenes and experience what it is like to feed the penguins. One lucky child per session (10.30am and 3.30pm on weekends only) will be selected to stand toe to toe with the beloved penguins while feeding them their favorite food!

But hold on - I have saved the best for last. This holidays, the exclusive promotion ‘Kids Come In Free’, will entitle all kids to free admission when accompanied by a paying adult. Just present the coupon below to enjoy the offer!
