Jelutung Harbour Park has 4 Play areas & 1 Water Playground for kids - ALL FREE!

No comments :

Residents living in the Woodlands and Sembawang areas will know of this hidden playground gem tucked away within a circular cluster of flats - and it is huge and fun for kids!

Located at the foot of Block 493 Admiralty Link, this playground re-opened late last year after a major facelift and now sports 5 play areas for kids of all ages.

There are a total of 4 playgrounds to choose from, of which the largest one being in the centre of the park.

There are also separate play areas designed specially for younger kids and toddlers.

There are three other smaller play areas scattered throughout the park as well.

But I think the major draw for most kids will be this.

A FREE water play area with spray poles, water guns and jet sprays!

The set-up may be simpler than other water playgrounds but in the eyes of kids, water play IS water play... especially if there's a (tiny) splash bucket!

The water play area is operational daily from 9.30am to 9.30pm, and there is a toilet cum shower located beside the water area.

And while the kids are kept busy at the playgrounds, parents can work up a sweat storm too at the fitness corner which consists of resistance bands and even weights!

If you are in the area of Woodlands and Sembawang, it is worth a visit!

Or if your kids prefer a full-fledged water play experience, head to the newly-opened Oasis Waterpark @ Nee Soon East. It's FREE too!

NEW Free Outdoor Playground: Jubilee Park @ Fort Canning Park has super long slides & logs!

1 comment :

For a huge slice of Singapore's history, look no further than Fort Canning Park. The hill once sited the palaces of 14th century Kings and served as the Headquarters of the Far East Command Centre and British Army Barracks. The decision to surrender Singapore to the Japanese on 15 February 1942 was also made on the hill, in the Battle Box.

But not only that, Fort Canning Park also has wide green spaces for kids to run amok... as well as this brand new playground space.

Earlier this month, Fort Canning Park completed its first phase of historical restoration and now features nine historical gardens - the Pancur Larangan, Artisan’s Garden, Sang Nila Utama Garden, Jubilee Park (Phase 1), Raffles Garden, First Botanic Garden, Farquhar Garden, Spice Garden and Armenian Street Park.

Of all 9 gardens, Jubilee Park will probably appeal the most to kids because of the brand new playground!

Located opposite Liang Court, Jubilee Park sits on the western slope of Fort Canning Park, which used to host a range of recreational options for Singaporeans, such as River Valley Swimming Pool, Van Kleef Aquarium and the National Theatre in the 20th century. If these are familiar to you, then you and I probably grew up in the same era. 😁

Now, the open space has been restored as a family-friendly node with lots of play structures for kids. For one, they will love putting their balancing skills to the test at this log obstacle course!

Got kids who can never seem to stop bouncing? Get them on these bouncy nets while you chill in one corner. Sounds like a plan, no?

But my pick of the lot has got to be these slides!

There are a total of 3 slides which offer different meandering options down to the bottom.

There is even a shorter and gentler slide for younger kids.

Kids can also access a lookout point via a rope bridge.

Of course, what's a playground without the usual swings?

There are different types of swings for kids to choose, including two which are wheelchair-friendly.

There is also space for outdoor art installations, performances and events. But this isn't all - the next phase of enhancement to commence in 3rd quarter 2019 will see the renovation of existing buildings at Foothills to accommodate gallery space and new F&B facilities.

Play in Buzz's Human Pinball Machine or Race through Bo Peep's Obstacle Course at Children's Festival 2019

No comments :
Media Invite

Children’s Festival 2019 is back this June School Holidays at Gardens by the Bay, and it will be a Toy Story-themed affair!

From 15 to 30 June 2019, Supertree Grove will be transformed into a colourful carnival filled with family-friendly games and activities, inspired by Buzz, Woody and the gang in an all-new Toy Story adventure.

And best of all, it's FREE admission for everyone!

I had watched the first Toy Story in 1996, and it has occupied a special place in my heart ever since. So yes, I think I was the more excited one compared to the monkies when it came to Woody & Buzz! 😁

Hey, but it's not called a Children's Festival without fun activities for kids, no? Besides parent-child workshops, there are plenty of free activities to get the kiddos excited:

STAR ADVENTURER
10am - 9pm; Supertree Grove

Essentially a life-sized human pinball game, kids are tasked to set Buzz Lightyear free by pressing on the target buttons to help recharge the batteries in his space suit.

Once powered up, Buzz Lightyear will be able to set himself free, ready to go to infinity… and beyond!

BO PEEP'S ADVENTURE
10am - 9pm; Supertree Grove

Kids who love a good challenge in the form of an obstacle course rejoice! There’s more to Bo Peep’s Adventure than meets the eye.

It is an obstacle course disguised as a beautiful symphony of colours, textures and visual treats, and holds many challenges that require speed, agility and endurance.

There are also three game booths at Supertree Grove which parents and kids can play together. Participation in the games are FREE.

WOODY’S COASTER RESCUE
10am - 9pm; Supertree Grove

JESSIE’S RING CAPTURE
10am - 9pm; Supertree Grove

BULLSEYE RESCUE
10am - 9pm; Supertree Grove

DISNEY AND PIXAR’S TOY STORY 4 THEMED MARBLE RUN
10am - 9pm; Supertree Grove

This is the first ever Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 4 themed marble run in Singapore! Happening twice every hour, visitors can gaze up to two of the Supertrees and follow the 1.5-metre-wide marble as it weaves around the towering structures and travels along the track that spans approximately 150 metres. This will be accompanied by familiar tunes from Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story films.

Oh, and don't miss the chance to bring home Festival-exclusive Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 4 Bobble Head figures from a giant capsule-dispensing machine at the Marble Run. Simply spend a minimum of $5 at Gardens by the Bay and top up $7 at the booth for a play at the capsule-dispensing machine.

FRINGE ACTIVITIES

There are plenty of other fringe activities, like LEGO building, scattered around the Supertree Grove area too. As an added incentive for kids, they can pick up a trail book and complete special missions at Children’s Festival. Complete all trail stations in the book and they will be able to redeem an exclusive set of stickers!

MEET AND GREET BUZZ LIGHTYEAR AND SHERIFF WOODY
15 - 16 June | 10.30am, 4.00pm, 5.00pm, 6.00pm and 7.00pm | Supertree Grove

With a tagline like 'Gooey Oozy', I had expected something slimey... but it turned out to be tent filled with highly instagrammable spaces. 😂

Curated for curious minds, TRANSPORTA is a multi-sensory experience made up of interactive displays and motion-tracking technologies, in a special-design environment. There are 3 main chambers within, a mist-producing one, one filled with giant colourful balls and one with trampoline pits.

The chamber filled with colourful balls will be a hit with everyone, while kids will love jumping on the trampolines - because it creates sound and light!

Throughout the festival, there will also be lots of stage performances, ranging from space and cowbiy shows to bubble and puppet shows... to even an alien show! Check out the full schedule HERE.

And because no festival is complete without the aroma of festival fare wafting through the air, enjoy juicy burgers, freshly baked pizzas, frozen yoghurt and other delightful snacks at the Festival!
