18 Activities for Kids this Easter Long Weekend 2021 Singapore

 

For the Easter long weekend last year, we were all cooped up at home... no thanks to Circuit Breaker. Fast forward a year and while things haven't returned somewhat to normal, I think we are all thankful that we are able to head outdoors with our families for some fun.



So do not let the Good Friday long weekend go to waste because there are quite a number of family-friendly activities happening during this 3-day long break. ENJOY!

Easter is just around the corner and Capitol Singapore and CHIJMES are transforming their grounds into an egg-ducational and eggs-ploratory wonderland ready to welcome curious minds of all ages.


At Capitol Singapore’s Outdoor Plaza, an exhibition playground featuring life-sized egg displays of 10 animals, such as the platypus, octopus, clownfish, sea turtle, emperor penguin and ostrich, provides families with an interesting fact learning journey. Over at CHIJMES’ Lawn, the young and young at heart will enjoy a playground of neon colourful LED swings, seesaws and comfy bean bags. Children are invited to spot eggs that glow in the dark while adults can learn fun facts about cuisines from all over the world like sushi from Japan, burritos from Mexico, dim sum from Hong Kong, pho from Vietnam and more!

Join in for a 45 minute guided walk through the Gallop Extension of the Singapore Botanic Gardens. Visit the OCBC Arboretum and a section of the Mingxin Foundation Rambler’s Ridge. The tour begins at the Visitor Centre at Gallop, and will take you through the OCBC Arboretum, viewing the dipterocarp collection. You will also experience the Mingxin Foundation Rambler’s Ridge, which showcases various pitcher plants and ant plants. After the tour, head to the newly-opened Como Adventure Grove Playground!

Say “hello” to the future where people continue to draw inspiration from nature, and the beauty of Singapore’s garden city continue to mesmerise and inspire human imagination, young and old. In this exhibition, preschool children in Singapore have been invited to create art that reveals how nature and contemporary ecological issues are viewed through their eyes of wonder and innocence as part of the Singapore Art Museum (SAM) Think! Contemporary Preschool Programme. 


With support from their schools and teachers, the children went on a process-driven art making journey that had drawn on their natural curiosities, allowing them to explore and create. The children were inspired primarily by nature, green issues as well as the contemporary artworks in The Learning Gallery and created their artworks based on the themes in this exhibition: communities in Singapore, nature and climate change.
