We pledge to...

The annual National Family Celebrations (NFC) is here again! And I think it is apt that our whole family, Daddy, Mummy, di-di & me, pledge to tell the loved ones around us, "I love you" a little more often.

Of course we do love the people around us - our family, our relatives, our friends - but sometimes we can get too caught up in the web of activities in our daily lives...

... that we often forget to show our appreciation to the ones that we care about and those who truly care about us. We know we love them, but it doesn't hurt to put that emotion into words and let them know that they are constantly on our minds. Always. After all, what is the significance of our achievements if we have no one to share them with?

So during this month-long National Family Celebrations (well, you can include the Great Singapore Sale too! :P), we want to let ourselves go and truly be uninhibited...

... and make that leap of faith...

... and express ourselves, to tell our loved ones that we truly appreciate them and to always put them on the top of the world.

To our dearest Ye-ye & Ma-ma, thanks for taking care of us 5 days a week... thanks for cooking our favourite dishes and boiling our favourite soups... thanks for bringing us over to the mall for the occasional treat (& toy)... and of course, thanks for loving us. We love you too.

And to our dearest Kong-kong & Por-por, thanks for injecting so much fun into our lives every weekend... thanks for the tiny excursions to the playgrounds & beaches... thanks for the yummy food and for cooking the food that we sometimes request... and of course, thanks for loving us. We love you too.

Have you joined the Singapore Family Pledge Movement and made your personal commitment to your family yet? Do it, because as a family, we Live, Love & Play. Together!

About the National Family Celebrations 2010

Organised by the National Family Council, National Family Celebrations is an annual event which celebrates and reinforces the importance of families and family life. This year, Singaporeans are encouraged to make a personal commitment to their families by being a part of the Singapore Family Pledge Movement.

To provide opportunities for Singaporeans to follow through on the pledges to their families, there are a myriad of activities under the NFC 2010 calendar – which will interest the young, the old, and everyone in between! NFC 2010 will be held from 25 May to 26 June 2010, and this year marks the 25th Anniversary of the Celebrations. For more information on NFC 2010, visit www.nfc.sg
