Come May, the DBS Marina Regatta - Singapore's premier international dragon boat competition - returns for a second edition at the Marina Bay. And to make it an even bigger affair, it will be taking place over two weekends (18/19 May and 24/25 May) making it the biggest water sports festival ever held in Singapore.
The first weekend of 18/19 May will see the proper Dragon Boat races, with close to 130 teams from all over the world including defending South East Asian champions, Indonesia.
For families though, the main attraction of the DBS Marina Regatta 2013 will definitely be the Bay Festival which is happening on the 24/25 May weekend. The entire Marina Bay will spring to life, with a host of family-friendly activities... and the most exciting of the lot? It has got to be the Water Craft by the Bay, where kids and adults alike will have the opportunity to try out dragon boating, ocean kayaking and sailing for FREE during the Bay Festival.
Other exciting activities include a showcase of cosplay talent, rousing drum competitions, band performance and fun carnival activities including games, sports and art & craft over the two weekends.
So mark down the dates on your calendars, and get ready for a carnival-like atmosphere around Marina Bay on the 18/19 and 24/25 May weekends! For more information, visit www.dbsmarinaregatta.com.
