You have to hand it to those yellow, pill-shaped buggers. Never mind they spew gobbledegook that nobody can understand, what matters most is these Minions from Despicable Me are so irresistibly cute! And yes, they have managed to capture the hearts of my monkies - and mine.
Why do you think that we have made keychains of them, crafted a cardboard Minion robot and even had Ash and Ayd dress up just like them? So when I found out that the Minions were going to be the new additions to Universal Studios Singapore's Meet & Greet line-up, I knew the monkies will be over the moon.
Pity though that we could not make it for the Media Preview, which absolutely had me gutted. But thanks to the kind folks at Resorts World Sentosa, we had another opportunity to rub shoulders with them at an exclusive 'Breakfast with the Minions' event!
And that included my monkies.
For the record, I did gobble up my food just as fast too. Heh.
Oh, and what of the food spread? Pretty standard and decent fare if you ask me.
And yes, those are of all of the photos I took of the buffet breakfast spread. Because quite honestly, who cares about the food when the Minions are the STAR attraction???
Ale, for one, was initially awestruck when she first came into close proximity with the Minions. But she soon warmed up quickly, especially with Stuart the one-eyed Minion demanding a bear hug from her!
But if you think those are the only Minions you will see at USS, think again.
Complementing the invasion of the Minions, there are tons of exclusive merchandises available for purchase at the Universal Studios Store. Yep, just in time for your Christmas Shopping!
From T-shirts, water bottles, cups, bags, hats, keychains, magnets, toys and even bedroom slippers, to oh-so-cute plush toys, there will surely be something to make every child yelp with glee... or adult for that matter too.
Oh, and I heard that the Fluffy Unicorn plush toy is super popular as well... with it selling out almost daily from Day 1!
The Minions appear on a daily basis along the legendary Hollywood Boulevard at USS so be sure to catch them if you there these school holidays!
Also, in celebration of the Christmas Season, USS will be extending its opening hours to 10pm daily for a special Christmas programming between 19 to 31 December 2013. The event will feature the theme park’s annual Christmas light show (at the facade of New York Public Library) and snowfall five times nightly. Visitors can also enjoy a 16-minute special edition of the park’s live Sesame Street show, featuring an original Christmas tale.
