LEGOLAND Malaysia's Birthday Surprise for Kids

Recently the wifey and I asked our then-7 year old Ayd where he would like to go for his birthday day out - an event that is becoming something of a tradition in our family. Of all the choices, guess which one he chose?

LEGOLAND Malaysia, Daddy.”

I did suggest Hello Kitty Land at Puteri Harbour, but all I got was an icy cold stare.

But I was not surprised. This little guy loves all things LEGO, even better if they came in the form of thrilling rides that he can go on. And even though LEGOLAND Malaysia theme park is approaching its second anniversary, Ayd always finds new things in the theme park to excite him.

Well, I guess a huge proportion of the super duper fun that Ayd indulged in on his birthday at LEGOLAND Malaysia could be attributed to the extra special attention paid to him by the staff members.

It was his very own Birthday Button Badge!

If your trip to LEGOLAND Malaysia includes bringing along a child (or a young-at-heart adult) whose birthday coincides with the day of your visit, let the staff at Guest Services (beside the main entrance) know when you arrive.

Because this is what the Birthday Child will get as part of LEGOLAND Malaysia's Birthday Surprise Programme:

1. FREE Entry to LEGOLAND Malaysia Theme Park on his/her birthday
Do note that in the event tickets have been purchased prior to the visit, there will be no refund.

2. Birthday Button Badge, complete with a Happy Birthday song at Guest Services
He or she will be accorded extra attention throughout the entire theme park, with staff wishing him Happy Birthday all day long and making that special effort to make his or her day a memorable one.

Not only that, in some places within LEGOLAND Malaysia, the unsuspecting birthday person might just be waylaid (as we found out) by the staff with a slice of cake and a rendition of the Happy Birthday song!

Yes, essentially the VIP treatment everywhere in the theme park where LEGOLAND staff will be wishing Happy Birthday and giving hi-fives to the birthday child.

3. Assisted Access Pass
To top it all off, the birthday child will be presented with a special 'Assisted Access Pass' which basically allows him/her and another 3 family members to skip ALL queues at the theme park!

How's that for being made to feel like king (or queen) for a day?

So it was no surprise that the monkies - and their buddies who joined in his birthday celebrations - went absolutely bonkers on the rides.

I guess the best testament was undoubtedly from Ayd, who exclaimed at the end of our (tiring) day that "It is the BEST Birthday EVER!"

I could not have said it better myself, son.

Even better news if you have booked a room at LEGOLAND Malaysia Hotel on your child's Birthday. The child will then be given a Birthday Surprise at either the hotel restaurant or in the room. He/She will receive a complimentary cake, birthday badge, and birthday card! Just remember to inform LEGOLAND Malaysia Hotel of your child's Birthday at the time of booking (via email or phone). Upon check-in, its front desk staff will re-confirm your choice of celebration and they will do the rest!

And there's more! In celebration of LEGOLAND Malaysia's second anniversary, there will be a new addition to the theme park - the all-new LEGO Star Wars Miniland Model Display on 6 September 2014! Just in time for the September School Holidays!

The fully air-conditioned indoor attraction will be the first standalone complex of its kind in Asia where 2,000 LEGO models from Star Wars have been recreated using more than 1.5 million bricks. The themed attraction is housed in a uniquely shaped standalone octagon building (beside LEGO Academy) and recreates seven of the most famous scenes - six from the Star Wars films and one from the animated series: Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

Inside the model display, guests will be able to experience a specially designed pre-screening area for a LEGO Star Wars movie, followed by a chronological walk through the Star Wars timeline before having a unique photo opportunity at the Hall of Fame starring main characters Chewbacca, C-3PO, Darth Maul, Darth Vader, Princess Leia, R2-D2, Yoda and much more. There will also be life-sized LEGO models of C-3PO, Darth Vader and R2-D2 built with more than 80,000 LEGO bricks to greet visitors as they make their way into the model display.

Now this is something I cannot wait!

*In celebration of LEGOLAND Malaysia's second Birthday, children who come dressed up as Star Wars characters between 6 and 30 September 2014 will be granted FREE entry to the theme park!

Hi preciouz,

As it's your birthday on the day of your visit, you will get the birthday badge.

LEGOLAND Malaysia's staff will greet and give extra attention when they meet the Guest who is wearing the Birthday Button to make their day a memorable one. In some instances, the team would also sing them the birthday song and present them with a slice of cake.

The whole birthday cake and Assisted Access Pass are not part of the Birthday Badge privileges.

Hope it helps!

Hi Anon,

LEGOLAND Malaysia did not provide a specific date as to when the card will be officially rolled out. Perhaps you may wish to call or email them closer to your visit date?

Sorry that I can't be of much help.

Hi Kelvin

We are planning a trip during Sep school holidays and would like to check with you on some questions that we have:

1. Is there any safe in the Legoland hotel room? so that we can put valuables there when we proceed to the parks.

2. I read that wet suits are not allowed on the waterpark rides but I see photos online showing people wearing it while on the rides...do you know if wet suit is allowed?

3. I wonder the lockers in the park allow for multiple access and if the charges is a one time charge for entire day? Meaning do we need to pay again each time we open the locker to retrieve some items?

4. Do the waterpark allow us to bring along a backpack as we venture in the park?

5. curious to know how you manage to take photos while having fun in the water park? Or one of you is assigned to be the photographer for the day and hence cannot participate in the waterpark rides?

Thank you and hope to hear your advice soon.

Rgds

Hi,

Thanks for dropping by our blog!

1. Yes, there is a safe in the room. The safe doubles up as an activity for kids as they have to crack the code in order to access the goodies within. (http://www.cheekiemonkie.net/2013/12/legoland-hotel-malaysia-review.html)

2. Officially, wet suits are not allowed on the slides, only in the pool areas. But I am not sure how strictly they are implementing this rule.

3. Yes, the lockers are rented on a per-day basis and valid for multiple access.

4. Yes, you can carry a backpack along in the park although not on the rides for obvious reasons.

5. I have a wtaerproof camera.

Hope it helps! Have fun! :)

The birthday program and the FREE entry on his/her birthday, a birthday badge and an Assisted Access Pass apply to only child or included adult? I try to call and two staff give me two different answers :(

Cheekiemonkies said...

Hi Mummy Moon,

The benefits apply only to the birthday child.

For the Assisted Access Pass, it is valid for up to 4 persons - of which one of them must be the Birthday Child.

Hope it helps!

Hi Kelvin,

I'm planning a 3D2N trip to Legoland & Hello Kitty Town with 5 adults, 1 kid & 2 toddlers (less than 2 yrs old)... 2 days for Legoland, 1 day for Hello Kitty Town. Based on your experience or suggestion, how you think we should start off so we could cover both parks at Legoland. Is 1 day enough to cover Hello Kitty Town & the big club. Do you have any itinerary that I could reference to as I'm the "organizer" for this trip & I'm quite stress abt it. Thks in advance for your advice & suggestion.

Hi,

Thanks for dropping by my blog.

May I ask where will you be staying for the 2 nights?

If it is at LEGOLAND Hotel, then it will definitely be more convenient.

Little Big Club & Hello Kitty Town only needs at most slightly more than half a day to cover. But seeing that you have younger kids, they might prefer to spend a longer time there compared to LEGOLAND as it is more toddler-friendly.

Day 1: Check-in, LEGOLAND theme park
Day 2: LEGOLAND Water Park, back to hotel to wash up, LEGOLAND theme park
DAy 3: Check-out, Little Big Club & Hello Kitty Town

Hope it helps!
