Daddy Matters

(Daddy blogs)

Some people say, if you tell a lie often enough, it will eventually come true. Well for one particular blogfather, all it took was just once.

It began harmlessly enough - an April Fool's day prank devised by Winston, a Daddy Blogger at blogfather.sg where he announced he was setting up a Singapore Man Bloggers group for the Daddy Bloggers in Singapore. Amazingly, all the other Daddy Bloggers were gullible enough to believe him and congratulated him on taking the first important step.

And as the events unfolded on that fateful day, there was no turning back.

What was meant as a joke got serious and set the band of Daddy Bloggers thinking.

We thought really hard and pondered really long. Yes... contrary to popular belief, we men do use our brains as well.

And after 2 agonisingly long days of online meetings, it was born.

Daddy Matters is made up of an online community of active dads, who are hoping to learn as well as promote the message of active fatherhood to everyone.

That's as simple as it gets actually.

Given that Daddy Matters is very much still in its infancy stage, I for one do not know where this project will take us. But at centre of it all, Daddy Matters was created by a crazy mix of 11 Daddy Bloggers who have been inspiring each other for the past one year:

Winston Tay - blogfather.sg & dear.xander.sg
Nick Pan - nickpan.com
Edmund Tay - edunloaded.com
Andy Lee - sengkangbabies.com
Kelvin Ang - daddy.nivlek.per.sg
Isaiah Kuan - jbabiesdad.blogspot.sg
Daddy M -  thewackyduo.com
Patrick Pang - patrickpang.com
Christopher Vu - christophervu.com
and, me.

Should you wish to know more about us, you can do so at http://www.daddymatters.sg/about/first-eleven/

Of course, we do not profess to be the gurus of Fatherhood. Instead, we started off with the sole intention to benefit fathers in Singapore, and strive to inspire and encourage them that they can be more involved in their kids’ lives. And along the way, we can learn from each other about the highs and lows of being a parent as well.

At the end of the day, I would like to think that we are able to create more awareness of the Daddy’s role in blogging about their kids, and encourage more Dads to share their parenting experiences and places/activities to do with their kids in the process.

So if you are a Daddy, do join in the growing online community of Dads at www.daddymatters.sg. Or if you are a Mummy, do check us out too for insights into what exactly that makes your hubby tick!

Oh, and did I mention we have a Facebook page too? Like us will ya! :)
