Come 30 June 2019, Gleneagles Hospital will mark its 60th Anniversary with “Healthy Ever After”, a fairytale-themed carnival!

Organised in support of The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund, visitors will be taken back to Once Upon A Time to relive Gleneagles’ 60 years of history. There will be a heritage walk to learn more about the hospital's rich history, and the first 100 participants completing the walk will receive an exclusive Gleneagles teddy bear.

But what's a birthday party without some family fun?

Healthy Ever After: Theatre Show

Join the characters from The Wizard of Oz, Wonderland, Princess and The Frog and Humpty Dumpty as they meet Doctor G while adventuring through The Gleneagles Forest.. Along the way, find out how the Tin Man gets his new heart beating right again; what the Frog Prince has to do to get his tummy well again; if Humpty Dumpty can be put back together again; and what the White Rabbit can do with  his friends all sick and he is running late for tea. This theatrical play by ANDSOFORTH features 4 scenes, 9 of your favourite fairytale characters and plenty of audience interaction!

Keep an eye out for the fairytale characters and take a photo with them as they make their way around Gleneagles Hospital!

Heritage Walk

Gleneagles Hospital Singapore is the first among all Gleneagles Hospitals globally. It is also the oldest healthcare provider in the Orchard Road area.

Originally a six-storey luxury hotel in the 1950s, the Gleneagles Hotel was later converted for use as a hospital by the British European Association on 16 January 1958. It was later opened to the public on 8 June 1959. Located just opposite the Singapore Botanic Gardens, Gleneagles Hospital Singapore could count on the lush greenery for giving patients an ideal healing environment.

Parkway Holdings later acquired Gleneagles Hospital in May 1987 and the hospital has since grown with more than 300 multidisciplinary specialists & healthcare professionals working 24/7 in the hospital.

What an interesting bit of history regarding the Gleneagles Hospital site!

Kids (and adults) will be able to find out more about the rich heritage of the hospital by going on a specially curated Heritage Walk. There will also be trivia stations with questions and flip-up covers revealing answers that will enable help participating kids complete their stamp cards. The first 100 kids who complete the trail will  get an exclusive Gleneagles teddy bear!

Carnival Activities

Beyond the show and heritage walk, participants can indulge in a variety of carnival activities. Besides a bouncy castle, craft stations and interactive medical games may just just inspire the next generation of medical professionals.

Look out for the following stations in and around the hospital lobby:

o Bouncy Castle
o Terrarium-Making
o Magical Face Painting
o Fairybeads Art
o Balloon Palace
and more!

Head up to Level 3 for the Medical Interactive Stations to learn more about the human body, nutrition facts and experience a day in the life of a doctor in the emergency room.
