[NEW] Alice in Wonderland-themed Playground in Dawson Vista, Singapore

Singapore's first 'Theme Park' Playground in the heartlands has officially opened!

Inspired by the famed children's classic 'Alice in Wonderland', the WonderLand Playground (the capital 'L' is intentional) is located in the HDB cluster of Dawson Vista, Queenstown... which means it is FREE for everyone to visit!

And kids will definitely go crazily happy at this whimsical outdoor playground.

From swinging under the magical tree to embarking on a Mushroom Adventure, kids get to immerse themselves in a magical wonderland, just like in the story!

When one first enters the playground, you will find two doorways at the entrance - one for adults and another smaller one for kids.

And because a playground is meant for kids of all ages to play in one common area, the WonderLand Playground has play equipment for both younger and older kids.

Children from 2 to 5 years old can laugh at their own reflections at the Twiddle-dee and Twiddle-dum twins' funny mirrors.

And because all kids love to jump around, there is also a trampoline in the shape of a giant clock.

Rounding up the fun for the todders is this colourful rocking see-saw.

For the older kids, more exciting play challenges await.

There are two masive play stuctures on each side of the playground. Named 'Mushroom Adventure', the larger one on the left allows kids to climb upwards via a multi-coloured and tiered structure.

Once up, they have to traverse across a rope bridge...

... to reach the other side of the structure and enjoy a quick descent down the orange tube slide!

Oh, and kids cannot miss the huge Cheshire Cat - no grin here - resting on top of the structure too. And while they are at it, they can go on the 'Swaying Wheels' swings as well.

The other structure on the right is where kids can truly pick out familiar characters and objects from the Alice in Wonderland tale. Can you spot the Mad Hatter's hat and teapot?

But more than that, it hides another climbing structure!

I love how the traditional play quipment such as slides, seesaw, climbing platforms and trampoline have been inegrated with the whimsical Alice in Wonderland-themed design.

Kids are getting more sophisticated and discerning these days, thanks to the internet so it is also timely that the outdoor playgrounds of today have been updated to keep the little minds engaged.

Because sometimes, there is nothing like encouraging imaginative role-play by bringing just a little bit of that magic to the children's minds.
