The school holidays are upon us once more! And though it is just a short one-week break, there are lots of things to see, do and just have fun!

1. i Light Marina Bay 2012

Back in December 2011, we had a sneak peek at the upcoming i Light Festival 2012 at Marina Bay. Now in its 2nd edition, it is Asia's first and only sustainable light art festival. Themed "Light Meets Asia", the festival will feature innovative and environmentally sustainable light art installations by 30 multi-disciplinary artists, with a strong focus on works from Asia.

Apart from the blindingly beautiful light installations, visitors can also look forward to other complementary activities - including a night picnic and carnival, outdoor performances, guided light walks, educational talks and workshops - all to ensure there is something for everyone from the young to the old.

2. Transformers Cybertron Con 2012

OOH... now this is the BIG one!

We think Daddy is the one most excited kid in our household. Any surprises there?

For the first time in Southeast Asia and following the its successful inaugural convention in Shanghai in 2010, the Transformers Cybertron Convention will be held in Singapore at the Resorts World Convention Centre from 11- 14 March 2012.

In addition to an extensive display of Transformers toys, cartoon animation and video games, there will also be panel sessions with Hasbro and Transformers experts and a 22-foot tall Optimus Prime statue!

3. Sentosa KidZ Flea Market

This March School Holidays, ‘Playtrepreneurs’, aged between 7 and 12 and accompanied by an adult, will put on their ‘business suit apron’, set up their booths and learn the ropes of running a little business.

'Playtrons' of all ages are welcomed to visit the Sentosa KidZ Flea Market and support the aspiring young ‘Playtrepreneurs’! The buzzing flea market will keep everyone entertained with a list of performances, from fascinating magic shows to engaging puppet shows.

4. Play - The Three Little Pigs

The time has come for the three little pigs to seek their fortunes. What will happen to them when the Big Bad Wolf gets in their way?Embark on an adventure with the three little pigs as they battle the Big Bad Wolf with their charming and witty ways!

5. FUTURE PERFECT: A Bioethics Theatre Play by the Necessary Stage

6. Musical - Sing to the Dawn

In a small village in the heart of Southeast Asia, Dawan competes with her brother Kwai for the coveted single scholarship for the City High School. 7. Play - Egg & Spoon

Welcome to the magic circle where we celebrate the wonders of nature. Sit down and relax on our comfy cushions as two characters, Percy and April, guide you through the four seasons. Make some friends while you play peek-a-boo in our puddles or dance at the butterfly party. You’ll see how everyone likes to sleep on the moon cushion or cover themselves with snow from their first year to their fortieth, from spring to autumn and back again.

20. World Story Telling Day @ The Arts House

21. Concerts for Children: Peter and the Wolf (SSO)

Since its appearance in 1936, Prokofiev’s immortal symphonic fairytale Peter and the Wolf has enthralled audiences of all ages. 22. MindFest

MindFest is an annual festival, organised by the Science Centre Singapore with the aim to bring together “playful inventors” of all ages. 23. The Three Big Bullies (Children's Chinese Drama)

A long time ago, there once lived a tyrant named Zhou Chu, who was feared by many for his bad temper. The bully was a little boy who has the arrogance and strength of a dragon, a howl louder than a lion, hotheaded and impatient as a tiger. The little boy always insisted on having things his way. Every child at the playground was fearful of him. Along came two evils, Tiger and Dragon, who terrorised the playground. To be well liked, the little boy decides to chase the two evils away. Will he be able to defeat the two evils and become everyone’s hero?

Experience the re-telling of a Chinese Classic (with a modern twist) about bullying and its consequences, with drama, traditional hand puppets, rod puppets, shadow puppets by the Paper Monkey ensemble.

25. Run & Raisin' 2012

Organized by TOUCH Young Arrows (TYA), Run and Raisin' 2012 is a fund-raising event which comprises a charity run and carnival to benefit some 400 disadvantaged children and families. Enjoy a day of fun and games with your friends and family or slip on your trainers and do your part!

Our fave holiday would be one that involves a road trip, particularly in Australia. We love the roads there, and the carefree nature of such a trip there.
