Hong-ing the Kong: The Finale

No comments :
Final day of our holiday and di-di & me were determined to end it off with a bang!

Think this must be the day that we were the most well-dressed. Hahaha... 'cos meeting Mickey & gang for breakfast mah. Can't be too shabby you know. :P

We took the pick-up car to Disneyland Hotel, where we were to have our buffet breakfast at the Enchanted Garden restaurant.

The Disney Character buffet breakfast is about S$30 per head; free for children below 3 years old. YAY!

But it was worth it and we would highly recommend it should you decide to go to Hong Kong Disneyland. 'Cos not only do we get a fantastic spread of yummy food, the Disney characters will come out to mingle and take photos with all of us. There's no need to queue or rush as they will take turns to come to our table to let us kiss, hug, shake hands, and of course take photos. Yah, machiam wedding dinner like that. Heh.

So it sure beats having to queue up at the Disneyland themepark, under the hot sun, to take photos with the disney characters.

See how I was eagerly anticipating the arrival of the VIPs? :P

Finally, Goofy made the first appearance at our table! But di-di was pretty scared at first though.

Hahaha... no problems for me. I was hugging Goofy, like he was my long-lost buddy.

The photos pretty much speak for themselves... so enjoy! :)

But the most important guest of all had me waiting for the longest time.

When Mickey was at the other tables mingling, I was already on my feet and peering over my seat to see when he would come over. Hee.

Finally, Mickey arrived!

Mickey was the only character that di-di recognises, thanks to the Playhouse Disney channel in our hotel room. Which I might add was on the whole time whenever we were in the room (except sleeping of course).

Di-di was so excited that he started flapping his arms excitedly. I, on the other hand, put my hands to better use. I gave Mickey a Hi-five. Hahaha...

After all the hugs and kisses, we bade farewell to the Disney characters and headed back to the hotel to check-out. And what do you know, I REFUSED to leave the room! Yah lor, I couldn't bear to go back home. I kept muttering, amid my tears, that I wanted to stay in the room ' cos the wall has a Mickey & Minnie Mouse picture!

Luckily, Daddy & Mummy managed to coax me and soon, I was as chirpy like a little bird on the plane again. :P

I had really enjoyed myself this trip and think di-di did too, especially when he saw Mickey Mouse. Hahaha... Where's next huh, Daddy & Mummy? :P

Hong-ing the Kong 6

No comments :
2nd last day our our holiday and so, we wasted no time in getting out of bed & getting ready for Disneyland: Part 2!

Since we were slightly early for the shuttle bus, we took the opportunity to explore the hotel grounds...

And since it was a sunny morning, it was also the perfect excuse to wear my new Donald Duck cap! Hee hee...

Just like our hotel room, the hotel grounds are also awashed with lots of Mickey mouse motiffs. Which I had a fun time picking them out. :P

A darn obvious one has got to be this bench lah... hahaha...

Then I started looking at the flowers to see if they were of the Mickey Mouse shape.

But before I could make any headway, I, together with di-di, was plonked onto a vintage car for more photo shots.

Luckily for us, it was time to board the shuttle bus. So onward to Disneyland! Again!

And this time around, we began covering the rides that we had missed out on yesterday. First up - the short river raft ride to Tarzan's Island.

We had to climb up and up the steps to Tarzan's treehouse and along the way, we got to see the brief story of Tarzan....

... through the different rooms in the treehouse.

Then we went for the Jungle River cruise next. That was pretty interesting as well, with a lot of water sprays, real fires thrown in.

It was back to Fantasyland after that, and under my request, we went for another round of all the rides that we sat yesterday. Hee hee...

There were the Dumbo ride, teacup ride... and my fave of the lot - Winnie the Pooh ride. Di-di and me got to ride on the merry-go-round too!

I even got my photo taken with Tinkerbell on my palms. Hehe...

There was only so much fun that 2 toddlers could take... and so Daddy & Mummy decided to bring us back to the hotel for our naps once again.

After snuggling in the comforts of our bed for 2.5 hours, we were back in Disneyland once again to catch the live-action 'The Golden Mickeys' Show.

It's basically a musical show, disguised like an Oscars Awards show, that showcases the various songs from Disney cartoons of the past. Cartoons like The Little Mermaid, Mulan, Lilo & Stitch, Tarzan, Beauty & the Beast. Cartoons which seemed foreign to di-di and me, but brought back a lot of wonderful memories for Daddy & Mummy.

The highlight of the show for me was just all about Mickey, Donald, Minnie, Goofy and Pluto. Everytime when they went off stage, I would ask Daddy where they gone.

ME: Where's Mickey?
DADDY: He went to change clothes.
ME: No, Mickey go pass urine.

After the show, we quickly made our way for one last ride before the Fireworks show - the Buzz Lightyear Blaster ride. It was also a fun ride ride 'cos we got our very own guns to shoot the evil villians while our car capsule was moving along the track. But I think Daddy enjoyed it more than me lah. Heh.

Then it was time for the splendid Fireworks once again.

Everyone went back to the hotel happy after that, while I tucked into my late dinner. :)

But I didn't eat a lot, 'cos I was saving my stomach for the next day, when Mickey would be joining me for breakfast!

Hong-ing the Kong 5

No comments :
Day 5 and today is a special day! Yippee!

And it's not special 'cos of Disneyland lah... lest you misunderstand. :P It's Daddy's birthday!!! Yep, Sep 20 was his birthday and so we went for a really hearty breakfast at Cafe de Coral.

We've got to go back there again when we are back in Hong Kong next time, 'cos the food there was so cheap and yummy!

Look at all the food!

ALL THESE for only S$ 7! Cheap hor??? There were macaroni, porridge, turnip cake, steak, toast, egg, kopi and teh. Gimme these breakfast sets over yakun anytime. Hahaha...

Then we headed back to our hotel to check out, and made our way to the place where dreams come true.

But first we had to check in to the Disney Hollywood Hotel. And boy, did di-di and me luuurve the room so very much!

And there was a promotion that rewarded us with an extra day of entry to Disneyland since we were staying at the Disney hotel. Yay! That means we can go back tomorrow too!

We had orignally booked a Garden view room, but somehow 'cos it was Daddy's birthday... we got upgraded to a Seaview room instead. Kio tio lor! Hee hee...

Thanks ah, Daddy! :P

Everywhere in the room had Mickey Mouse motiffs, some obvious while some hidden. They were imprinted nearly everywhere... like the mirrors, stationary, shower curtains, walls, even the bedroom slippers.

Heng the toilet bowl was not in the shape of the Mickey motiff... if not too big for my backside lah.

Okay, back to serious stuff...

After settling down, we made our way to Disneyland. Finally!

And I finally came face-to-face with the characters that I had grown to love watching on the telly.

But since we went into Disneyland around 1pm, I was feeling drowsy especially after having lunch. So Daddy quickly cajoled me to sleep first. Why leh? 'Cos he didn't want me to miss the parade later.

Di-di, on the other hand, had his morning nap. So he was one little bundle of energy.

And of course no trip to Disneyland is complete without paying a visit to the stores to check out their wide range of merchandise. And I somehow knew that Daddy would pick out the Dumbo ears for di-di to try on.

3.30pm was the magic time for the street parade to begin. And luckily enough, I woke up just 15 minutes prior to the show. But not before quenching di-di's and my thirst first...

And so the parade began! And the summer theme being waterworks parade, we the spectators were warned that we could get wet. Very wet.

There were so many Disney characters to keep a lookout for! And many of the floats were so naughty... spraying water on us. But I enjoyed it lah. Hee hee...

But my biggest waves were reserved for Donald & Mickey!

After the joys of being drenched, it was time to hit the rides!

We went on the Winnie the Pooh ride and it was very fun! So fun until I wanted to go on it again. Hahaha... But I was persuaded to give the other rides a go first.

And so, Dumbo the Flying Elephant was next.

Next came the spinning tea cups... which made Mummy want to vomit. Hahahaha...

Then we made our way to Tommorwland, where I tried to conquer the universe.

Erm, a bit too short though. Heh.

It was nearing 6pm liao... and so on seeing my increasingly tired face...

Daddy & Mummy decided to bring us back to the hotel for a hot bath, freshen us up and have our dinner first. And we would go back later in the night to catch the 8pm spectacular Fireworks!

But not before one more for the photo album! Heh.

Later in the night, we were back in Disneyland. And see who joined me! :P

8pm and the grounds grew silent, in anticipation of the fireworks bursting over the castle.

Words can't do justice to the magnificent fireworks show. Everything was so well-coordinated... the wonderful music, the colourful streaks of light dancing against the black backdrop. Let's just say it brought a tear to Mummy's eye. :P

15 minutes of sheer brilliance and that was it. Luckily we could still catch it again the next day. Yippee!

Back at the hotel, and we bought a tiny Tiramisu cake, in the shape of Mickey Mouse's head, to celebrate Daddy's birthday.

And when I say tiny, it really was tiny lor. Hahaha... but nevermind lah, got cake and candle to blow can liao.

As usual, I had to insist to help Daddy blow the candle.

And other than the 1 mouthful of cake that Daddy and Mummy each had, I walloped the remaining cake. Every single bit.

No wonder di-di was eyeing on my Mickey Mouse soft toy when I was engrossed eating.

And he finally made his move while I wasn't looking...

Heng my grip was firm. Hahaha...

Anyway, it was time to sleep after the mini celebration... as it will be another fun-packed day at disneyland again the next day!
