The Great Moscow Circus is one nail-biting ride + Win 4 tickets to this Amazing show!

Media Invite

Did you know that in Russia, cicus is viewed as an art form that is culturally on par with ballet and opera? The Russians truly take the business of circus seriously and it really shows in the jaw-dropping performances in The Great Moscow Circus show that is currently happening at the Mighty Big Top beside Marina Bay Sands.

Because if you are looking for some good quality entertainment for the whole family, The Great Moscow Circus is definitely something not to be missed. And I must admit, I had underestimated how good it would be just as I took my seat in the circus ring.

The ring was definitely smaller than I envisioned it to be but that is actually a good thing because the entire seating area was kept pretty snug and cosy... which meant you get a good view of the performances no matter where you sit.

That's the Globe of Death, one of my fave acts by the way and I promise I'll get to that in a bit.

There are eleven acts, all of which inspire nothing but awe. The opening act – a lively sequence of  high flying trampoline acrobatics was enough to keep me and the monkies glued to our seats.

Actually, each and every act was exceptional in its own way. I could hear myself saying “WOW” so many times, looking at Ash, Ayd and Ale and asking ourselves," How on earth did they do that???"

Yup, like this Rubber Man... who make squeezing into that XXXXS pants look like a piece of cake.

Frankly, the show is brilliant from start to finish and it does not even have to involve death-defying acts for all of us to break into thunderous applause. For every flip and twirl in that somersault routine, I can only guess the immense hard work, perspiration and accidents that went behind the scenes to make everything seem so easy.

Even 'flying' high above the circus ring without any safety harness was enough elicit gasps from all of us watching from below.

Oh, and there is an Australian dude who even rocked out on an electric guitar whilst balancing on ALL OF THESE!

Of course, it is not all about tense performances. Let me just say the clowning acts will have everyone roaring with laughter. Kids will be particularly tickled every time the clowns appear - especially with plenty of audience participation.

But my faves were reserved for two adrenaline-inducing acts. And one of them involved this double wheel of death performance.

Four performers rotate the giant wheels just by running - much like hamsters - but without any safety wires. The spinning of the wheel gets more and more high paced and there are genuine screams of fright from the audience as the performers jump up high into the air with the wheel spinning before landing back onto the wheel. I lost count the number of times I had retrieved my pounding heart from my mouth.

The other fave act - which was also the monkies' - was this Globe of Death which somewhat resembled the Death Star.

This act began with just two motorbikes entering the globe and riding all around it. And thenm they increased it to three, then four and believe it or not…FIVE.

FIVE MOTORCYCLES SPINNING IN THE GLOBE!

It was truly nail biting. And I kid you not when Ash asked me to feel his palms and they were wet with perspiration! 😱

There are not many more words that I think can give The Great Moscow Circus real justice. Each act had me gasping with amazement, with the entire show being a fabulous spectacle of what the human body can do.

Simply put, you just have to see it for yourself!

P.S. In case you are wondering, The Great Moscow Circus Singapore contains no animal acts.
