Cheekiemonkies' Great Aussie Road Trip: Day 15

No comments :
Today, kor-kor & I said goodbye to our nice resort for the past 5 nights... sob! We definitely had lots of fun hopping around all the theme parks. And just to cheer us up a little bit, Grover was at the lobby to bid farewell to us. Hee.

Today was designated to be a relaxing free (read: shopping) day. But first, we had to check into the final accommodation of our Aussie trip - at Paradise Resort.

You guessed it - got pool means got us monkies splashing around in them. I think we may have gotten used to swimming in the cold weather already. Hahahaha...

I still prefer to stay in the hot jacuzzi, though kor-kor preferred to go dipping in the other icy pools. :P

And so to round up our relaxing day, we headed to the Pacific Fair mall for Daddy & Mummy to do their shopping. It was good that we went 'cos erm, we also got some stuff for ourselves!

WOOT! Needless to say, they were our sleeping companions for the remaining duration of our trip. Hee.

Cheekiemonkies' Great Aussie Road Trip: Day 14

30th June: Sea World, Surfers Paradise

As you can probably tell, the last leg of our Australia holiday has so far been completely devoted to Theme Parks. Which delighted di-di & me of course! And today was no different.

Yep, we REALLY made full use of our unlimited entrance tickets and went back to Sea World once again. Also partly 'cos we didn't get to sit most of the rides we wanted the last time we were here as it was too crowded.

And luckily for us, we found a super shortcut way to bypass ALL the crowds! So here's the SUPER TIP to get into Sea World without the hassle if you are staying at the Sea World Resort - You do not have to enter the theme park through the main gate, rather there's a monorail station at the resort which brings you to the theme park. But forget about that as well, 'cos after you enter the monorail station at the resort, walk down the ramp on your right which will lead you to the BACK entrance of Sea World. And there were no queues! Best of all, although the official opening time is 10am they will let resort guests in at 9.30am!

Wah, shiok lor... when we entered, it was as if we had booked the whole theme park to ourselves. Hahahaha... I was so happy that I decided to be a penguin.

But Daddy said the real penguins were cuter lah. Hmph.

We dropped by the Manta Rays pool, and found out that there will be a feeding session later in the morning so we decided to come back later.

You can tell from the photo that there were only just us at the manta ray pools... no crowds at all! Hee hee... so of course we headed straight to the popular thrill rides first!

Erm, yup... di-di & I wanted to try out this plunging water ride since we saw it 2 days ago but the queue was madness. And so, this time we managed to get onto the ride without much waiting, and succeeded in getting drenched too!

WHEEEE!!!!

Thumbs up for us monkies! Hahaha...

Di-di then decided it wasn't thrilling enough so he requested to go onto the log flume ride as well!

Well, I declined 'cos once was enough for me. :P

DOUBLE WHEEEEE!!!

Our legs didn't turn to jelly after those rides, as we were still able to win for ourselves a soft toy each at the game stalls after that. Woot!

Then I requested to catch the Dolphin show once again, so off we went...

Tummies a-growling while waiting for the show to start... nothing like a stick of Churros to get a sugar high. Hee.

I had to measure carefully so that di-di wouldn't bite off more than his share of the sugar stick. :P

But we promptly forgot all about the Churros when the show started... hahaha...

As usual, I was deeply captivated by the dolphins' soaring performance... it made me want to... go... on more rides after that! HAHAHAHA...

And so, we did just that! All the rides at the Sesame Street Beach in fact!

Including this Big Bird Bounce which was somewhat similar to the Sylvester & Tweety ride at Movie World (which we loved so much)...

Then it was time to fee the Manta Rays!

We were able to purchase cups of food (which had fishes & squids) and feed them directly to the rays.

As their mouths are underneath, they had to prop themselves almost one-third out of the water and grab the food from our hands.

It felt really amazing feeding the manta rays, 'cos it was unlike feeding a bird or a horse where you can see its mouth clearly. Mummy, too wanted a go at it after seeing how much fun I was having. Heh.

Then we proceeded to the touch pool where we got the chance to feel how sea cucumbers and starfishes felt like.

Really really soft and slimy for the sea cucumbers I say! The starfishes were harder, and definitely more colourful. :)

There was also the huge Underwater Aquarium which had so many fishes, rays and sharks too! Much like our Underwater World at Sentosa.

Before we knew it, it was already late in the afternoon and the sun was setting soon. Yes, the sun sets really early in Australia - at 5pm!

And since Daddy had promised us (and I bet he regretted it :P) that he would bring us to try out the children's water pool at our resort, we decided to make our way back so that we can all get wet and COLD!

Yup... you can't tell from the photo but it was a cool 16 degrees Celsius. And the pool wasn't heated hor. But actually, it was still alright for me 'cos I'm like Daddy - would rather freeze than perspire. Hee hee...

Needless to say, we had lots of fun in the pool though Mummy cleverly stayed away. But the tricky part was coming out of the pool after that to go back to our room...

IT WAS JUST SO COLD... no thanks to the WIND!!! Hahaha...

Di-di was chanting 'so cold so cold so cold so cold so cold' all the way back to the room. Hee hee... But it was a fitting end to our 5 nights stay at Sea World Resort as we will be checking out the next morning. We sure are gonna miss this place!

It really can't be too difficult to guess what was capturing our attention... :P

This.

Today is the launch of the iPad in Singapore, but Daddy got hold of his in Sydney when we were in Australia last month. Needless to say, di-di & I loved it!

Ok, Daddy & Mummy doesn't really allow us to play games on it ( We have the iPhone for that, but that's another story. Hahahaha...) but more for reading e-books (our current fave is the Toy Story one) and education purposes. I use it to trawl the internet for info when Daddy or Mummy are teaching us something, like say... to find out how certain dinosaurs look like when I'm working on some dinosaur-related topic. And it sure is easy to poke and swipe at the screen! Hee hee...

Recently, I have picked up Chess through the iPad too. And now, I've bugged Daddy enough times for him to buy me a proper Chess set 'cos I'm hooked onto playing Chess now. :)

Cheekiemonkies' Great Aussie Road Trip: Day 13

29th June: Movie World, Wet'n'Wild Water World, Gold Coast

Brand new day, same Elmo monster at the lobby... hee hee. But at least Mummy got to snap a photo with him too.

Today was Movie World yet again, as we had unlimited entry to the theme park. No complaints from di-di and me! And we got the superheroes costumes right this time around. :P

And yet again, we made our way to all the kiddie rides at the Looney Tunes area first... 'cos we were afraid that there will be long queues as the day progressed.

And the early bird catches the worm too... well, in this case Bunny. Bugs & Lola Bunny to be precise.

They were our for their early morning walk I reckon?

Time to head down to the Superman extreme roller coaster ride next! No no no, not to go on it lah... just take photo only. Hee.

Di-di also managed to find his Batmobile. :P

The Batman ride was an equally scary ride - a plunging thrill ride! Which we didn't go on it as well.

But we DID go for the alternative!

Our fave ride! Hahahaha...

After all the flying up and down, we bumped into some of Batman's nemesis... Grrr...

And the Joker was in an antagonistic mood - when he saw us, he quipped, "Ahhh... just how I like my superheroes - short!" Hmph! Dady thought it was very funny though. Double hmph!

With bad guys around, I think it was time for Superman to step up his patrols.

Luckily there was the Green Lantern to help us out.

Since we had help liao, we decided to do something outrageous (or foolish). Since we also had free entry to the Wet'n'Wild Water World, and since it was conveniently situated beside Movie World, we changed into our swimming attire and went for it! Never mind that it was only 16 degrees Celsius!!!

BRRRR!!! The water was sooooo cold. No wonder everyone was gathered here at the warm jacuzzi springs. Hahahaha...

Of course all 3 of us jumped in without hesitation.

Daddy & I did brave the cold to go the other giant slides eventually. Although we were freezing a little, it was super fun! Di-di, on the other hand, refused to come out of his snuggly Elmo towel after we got out of the warm springs. :P

We then had a late lunch, changed and back to Movie World we went!

This time, we waited at the main street again for yet another show - DC Heroes vs Villains.

It was full of action! We loved it! Heh. And then, it was back to - you guessed it - MORE RIDES!!!

And along the way, we bumped into some more Looney (Tunes) characters...

Di-di wanted to go on the bumper cars for one last time, but I didn't feel like queuing up. So while Mummy & him go wait, Daddy & I just walked around... with me posing around with Daddy snapping away.

Don't mess with me. I bite!!! Heh.

What do you know... yet another fun-filled day passed again just like that. Hahaha... only 4 more days of our holiday to go! Boo!
