Retrolicious!

1 comment :
Well, this post has been a long time coming... but Daddy had to wait for various sources to send him some of the photos before he can complete this long post. :P

So anyway, Class 95FM had put up a Retrolicious concert on 9th Oct and Daddy, together with his 2 pals - Uncle Ray & Agnes jie-jie, have been selected for a Mambo Jambo dance-off on stage before the concert. Mambo Jambo, or mbjb in short, is a weekly Wednesday night phenomenon held at Zouk and this is only place where you can see coordinated dance movements among the crowd, moving to the 80's & 90's retro music.

Daddy then decided to rope di-di & me into the competition, because well... Daddy had been imparting his skills to us since a long time ago. Hahaha...

And so, the actual night arrived!

We got ready on stage, and danced our very best!

With bated breath, we then waited for the audience's approval... as the winner will be determined by the level of the audience's applause.

The verdict? We won!!!

And our reward? To return back on stage later to perform together with Rick Astley for his opening number 'Together Forever'! Wah, Daddy's idol lor... hee hee...

But first, it was time for a well-deserved rest after all our exertions. And well, of course time to take lots of photos backstage as well. :P

Our team - Z5!!!

We then made our way to the front part of the stage to look for our most fervent & loyal supporter...

MUMMY!!! :)

Johnny Hates Jazz & Debbie Gibson were up first... so it meant that we had quite a bit of waiting to do. But no worries, there was the iPad to keep me company...

... while di-di had the iPhone for keeps. Hee.

And then, it was OUR turn...

We thoroughly enjoyed our dance on stage with Rick Astley!

Daddy, Uncle Ray & Agness jie-jie were even called back up on stage for Uncle Rick's closing song too. Not us monkies though - we were too tired by then. :P

By the time the whole concert ended, it was already midnight.... waaaaayyyy past our bedtime! But we really had lots of fun, not to mention lots of energy still too!

Now, where's that prize from Toys 'R' Us that Uncle Ray promised us??? Hee hee...

And this what we get up to at home...

No comments :
As you know, I'm down with the chicky pox so the past weekend had been a vastly different one compared to all other weekends... We stayed at home for the whole of TWO DAYS!!! So we had to find our own entertainment in a bid to keep our sanity (and maybe Daddy's & Mummy's too).

No lah, we are not re-enacting an episode from CSI or Criminal Minds. Di-di was actually taking the MRT... at peak hour. Hahahaha...

And yes, di-di isn't banned from playing with me. Daddy & Mummy figured it might be a good thing if he caught the pox from me too... just have to get it over with one time. But does it mean that we have to endure ANOTHER weekend at home????

Stay tuned to find out. :P

Yup, I'm down with the POX. Sigh.

No fever though, just spotty all over. At least I'm still as active as ever... which is a problem 'cos I can't go out! :P

Interview with Rick Astley!

No comments :
Last Friday, one day before THE Retrolicious concert, Daddy & me together with Unlce Raymond & Agnes jie-jie, were invited to Mediacorp to meet Rick Astley in person, and for an interview with The New Paper.

We were given instructions to dress up - hence the funny retro costumes. Hahaha... But anyway, not that I know who this Uncle Rick is... BUT I do recognise some of his songs like 'Never Gonna Give You Up' & 'Together Forever'! But he's Uncle Raymond's & Daddy's idol when they were in primary school you know. :P

So yes, all the adults left Caldecott Hill really happy and satisfied. Something like when I get to meet Optimus Prime in person too. Hee.

And the next morning, this is what appeared in The New Paper.

Aunty Mann's Wedding

No comments :
Last Sunday was one of Daddy's & Mummy's longtime hostel friend - Aunty Mann's wedding and boy did we have fun!

HAHAHAHA... it was all thanks to this self-automated photo booth that di-di & I took great pleasure in posing in front of - complete with outrageous props.

And you can see that the adults had lots of fun as well. :P

That's Aunty Mann, looking all radiant & pretty... it was a different kind of wedding dinner that di-di & I are used to attending, 'cos for one we had my fave PIZZA and di-di's fave PASTA for our meals! Woot!

Congrats Aunty Mann & Uncle Ben! Wishing the both of you eternal bliss & happiness!

And so, with the dinner out of the way... we kids (& adults alike) went to pose ourselves silly for more photos again! Hee hee...

Not too bad right? :P

Happy Children's Day!

No comments :
Last weekend was a long weekend for di-di & me, all thanks to Children's Day! And so all thanks to us too, Daddy & Mummy decided to go on leave as well! :P

Since the day was all about us children, Daddy & Mummy let us decide what we wanted to do for the entire day. And guess what we planned?

1. Breakfast at Macs.
2. Swimming at the pool.
3. Eating ice cream by the pool.

Sometimes, it's really just the simple pleasures in life that make us happy isn't it? :)

And so, that was how our Children's Day turned out. Simple, but extremely FUN for us monkies! Hee.

And on Saturday, we went to a play at the Esplanade called The Kingdom Under my Bed. It's about this little boy who was afraid of sleeping alone in his own room, 'cos he was afraid of the monsters under his bed.

But in the end, he found that instead of thinking that there are monsters below his bed, why not think that there is in fact a kingdom of fascinating forest animals and friends that are waiting to play with him every night when he sleeps?

And speaking of sleeping & nuah-ing after the play, nothing beats having a bag of Twisties in the hand, lying down on the couch and watching TV... all in the comfort of Kong-kong's & Por-por's home!

Now that's life! :P
